Chandra Wilson Lends a Hand to Habitat

The doctor is in ... the house! Grey's Anatomy actress and perennial Emmy nominee Chandra Wilson traded in her stethoscope for a hammer for a day as she pitched in with Habitat For Humanity. Check out the People magazine photo below.

Wilson and the group constructed homes for families in need on Thursday in Los Angeles. It's always nice to see Grey's Anatomy stars lending a helping hand.

Chandra, you are an inspiration to us all. I volunteered for Habitat for Humanity here in Chicago once and it was one of the most fulfilling things I've ever done. I painted the ceilings of this gorgeous house that was going to this really deserving family who I had a chance to meet and talk to a little bit. I wish I had time to do that more often. If I could afford it, I would quit my job and just do volunteer work 16 hours a day. Habitat is a Christian based company, and even though I'm not Christian, I felt right at home working with everyone there. I would recomend everyone to volunteer with them at least once. Who knows, maybe you'll get a chance to work next to Chandra Wilson!
