Chyler Leigh to Become Cast Member?
Despite appearing for a grand total of about two minutes at the end of Season 3, Chyler Leigh almost instantly became Grey's Anatomy's most hated.
So great is the animosity and concern over the arrival of Lexie Grey that many readers couldn't bear to participate in our Caption Contest involving her.
What's to come of the younger Grey intern in Season 4? We'll have to wait and see.
But here's a little tidbit from the TV Guide insider Michael Ausiello on Grey's Anatomy and Chyler Leigh...
Question: I hear that Mer's sister on Grey's Anatomy (a.k.a. Chyler Leigh) will be made a series regular next season. Seriously?
Ausiello: Nothing official yet, but that's what I'm hearing, too. Speaking of Grey's Anatomy, the title of the season premiere just landed on my lap, and, considering what Shonda Rhimes put us through in that finale, it sounds very promising. It's called, "A Change Is Gonna Come."
Looks like there's plenty more to be seen from Lexie Grey. And what do you think the change that's gonna come refers to?

Maybe Shonda is just teasing us Mer/Der fans with this character! Hopefully, Lexie will have NOTHING to do with Mer/Der as a couple. Surely, SHonda realizes with all of the comments about breaking Mer/Der up and bringing in her sister for Derek would definately be a big mistake for GA and a big disappointment to the fans! As we have all said before the relationship that Mer/Der started in season 1 and the longing for each other in season 2 and the (not sure what to call season 3 as far as their relationship went, other than heart wretching) ...surely SHonda would not make us fans go through all of that again with Mer/Der! And if she puts Derek and Mer with other people...I don't think it would ever be the same with them if she does that! So, in other words......please don't break this couple up..SHonda. They can be happy and still have the great storylines we all will enjoy watching!

I'd like to see Lexi and Meredith become friends so that she has some family she can trust and grow with. Don't you think? Too Pollyanna-ish?

LEXIE GREY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IF SHE LAYS 1 FINGER ON McDremay´S head THERE´LL BE TRPUBLE SERIOUS TROUBLE. I hope Meredith does to LEXIE what Derek did Mark when he saw him flirtting with Meredith. although it´s a long shot. SADLY. As you can see it´s mostly in caps thas how PISSED OFF i am.

July 5th, 2007 8:33 AM
GO AWAY Lexie Grey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 5th, 2007 8:33 AM
Hmm!, Shonda better not take any chances with those two, but it seems to me that she is still under estimating the power of her fans and especially the merder fans. like i keep saying' SOME LINES ARE JUST TOO DANGEROUS TO CROSS SHONDA" so dont even try any .......
July 5th, 2007 8:37 AM
I hate the idea of Lexie grey and i dont think i would ever like her no matter what. STOP MESSING AROUND SHONDA BECAUSE NOTHING LAST FOR EVER!
July 5th, 2007 8:42 AM
Ewww I hope not Not a big fan opf Meredith but Seriously. Lexie? god, stupid stupid Shonda. Shonda is a zero out of ten on my good side right now. I'm never going to like her. You know what i'm not going to watch the show if she's a regular. I'm putting my sad Grey's Anatomy addiction foot down. and petitioning. I'm not watching if she's a regular.

Kathy has a point. as much as i personally freaked out about lexie grey...maybe shondra is in a way fooling us. Everybody assumes that lexi and derek are going to get together, right? but...shondra doesn't do what we assume, yet neither does she do what we want...and what we want is McDreamy and Meredith to be together.
The only thing that scares me...is that this season..what if someting DOES kill off meredith..LEXIE GREY...Grey's anatomy? ugh. i really hope she doesn't become a cast member...or if she does shes there to give McSteamy a real storyline. Ausiello's been wrong before...hasn't he????
July 5th, 2007 8:55 AM
I don't care if Lexie Grey is on for a little bit(as long as she doesn't come between merder). I just don't want her to be signed as a season regular! BUT I STILL DONT LIKE HER!!
July 5th, 2007 9:10 AM
Shonda, you and your team are in big trouble and i hope to GOD you have some staff that forward all these comments to you. You are slowly killing the show we all came to love, how sad.

Why is it the things that don't seem well recieved we get tortured with. Which I guess her character should be given the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she will be more like Susan and that will help MerDer in the long run. I was also thinking about reading Shonda was having a problem writing the Izzie/George/Callie maybe them deciding to keep her longer has something more to do with them. Maybe Lexie could hook up with Alex I see that as a possibility. Over at Private Practice they have already done one recast there seems to be a new Naomi. I don't know if that's starting off on the right foot or not but at least it was done early.

That's what I don't get. Fans have made it loud and clear they do not like the idea of Lexie Grey in anyway. Now over at Private Practice which has'nt really gotten established yet has already recast the character of Naomi because she was'nt well recieved. What am I missing here?
July 5th, 2007 9:44 AM
I bet she'll wind up like Addison...everybody (including myself) hates her and then 2 seasons later we love her
July 5th, 2007 9:56 AM
No matter how open-minded I would like to be, I just cannot accept Lexie Grey. This is only for the sole reason that her presence seems to threaten Merder. We have to give due credit that a lot of the success of Grey's is because of Meredith and Derek. No other Grey would do except Mer or Ellen Pompeo for that matter. Heaven forbid my nightmare that Lexie is there to be the next Grey in Grey's Anatomy! I just hope that given the backlash from the fans, Shonda has other plans for Lexie.

I just have to say this since its bothering me lately, I simply cannot understand why up until now Shonda hasn't reacted to the voluminous amount of negative reaction from the fans regarding the direction she had laid out for Merder. I've read reports that some rewriting is being done with the whole Gizzie thing in reaction to a lot of disapproving fans. Hello? What about Merder? Haven't they had enough negative feedback yet? Even Patrick and Ellen wanted a better storyline. Am I missing something here? Or has Shonda had enough success already that instead of wanting 20 plus million people watching she only now wants 2?

Don't worry, everyone will live happily ever after in the end.
;)
July 5th, 2007 11:41 AM
just remember..... we all hated Addison at the end of Season 1 too .... but she grew on us ..... you never know what up Ms Shondas sleeve ...give her some credit ..she's hooked us thus far!

to "Shonda Rhimes"--thanks for your sense of humor, I needed that

I know in order for the show to grow and really move forward there has to be changes. But I am not one of those people who can except change where Derek and Meredith are concern. The writer's have them going from one extreme to the next. Let's cut down on the over drama and let them have simple problems like a normal couple would. If you just have to add Lexie to the mix do something different pair her with Alex or somebody.
July 5th, 2007 2:40 PM
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
You know, 4.01 is titled "A Change is Gonna Come".
That change better be a POSITIVE change in Mer & Der, and not a change as in which Grey he gives those McDreamy looks to....
July 5th, 2007 2:44 PM
This is what I call a double standard. Iz/Ge/Ca get a rewrite and Naomi at PP get's recast because of the back lash from fan's. Excuse me what's the difference between them and MerDer. Their fan's can't speak any louder than they already have.
July 5th, 2007 4:13 PM
NOOOOOOOOO! Why Shonda, why?
