IF he's being fired for just calling someone a name, I'll ask this, has it come to where people are not allowed to have an opinion? You don't have to agree, especially since too many people think Hollywood's tinsel should have ANYTHING to do with real people or real lives. I think it's too much ado about nothing, same as Don Imus, you don't like this person, turn 'em off.

Mr. Washington caused his own troubles and is now gone. Had someone called him by the N-word, he'd have raised hell about it. He used an equally offensive term against someone. Thankfully, the cast and T.R. Knight, specifically, handled the issue with diplomacy. Mr. Washington continue to provoke the matter and was subsequently let go. Any employer would have done it. Unfortunately, it didn't happen sooner.
As for the character of Dr. Burke, that character is gone. A new heart surgeon could be brought in to breathe new life into the show. Perhaps the one from Mercy West?
Shows change and shows adapt. Grey's Anatomy is no different.

I think Isaiah Washington is the best actor on the show. I think he jumped through a whole lot of hoops for nothing. I think he should definetly say on the show. Christina and Burke were more interesting than Meredith and "McDreamy," and definetly more interesting than George and Izzy.
What will Season 4 be like? I hope it can keep me interested because the spin-off did not.
I wish I knew all the facts but I don't. Yes Isaiah leaving does upset me because he was an asset to the show. GA has some amazing talent but to me it was'nt just one person it was the group that made it what it was. No I don't think Isaiah leaving will kill the show anymore than Kate leaving will. But it will leave a big void at first. Now that it has happen I hope their reason is based on more than just what he said months ago because it would not be justified at this point his firing should have taken place then not now. He made a mistake and has to be accountable for his action. He appeared to be trying his best but like I said I don't have all the facts and I don't think anyone else does either.

I care a lot more about the real-life feelings of T.R. Knight than I do about the feelings of a fictional character.
There's no room for hate in our society, whether you're an actor, a radio personality, or a regular work-a-day Joe. I don't care who you are, if you can't treat your fellow humans with respect -- rather than prejudice -- you don't deserve our support.

I know people are going to say that this isn't true, but no one can convince me otherwise. If things had been reversed, and T.R. called Isaiah the N word, ABC would've swept the entire thing under the rug as quickly as possible. And it makes me even angrier to see that very few cast members came to his defense. People make humiliating mistake all the time, aka Paris Hilton, but I've noticed how easily they get off and its all forgotten. So why couldn't this? African Americans have been and still are stereotyped, beliittled, and put down for hundreds of years. Gay/Lesbians have only been put through, what? 30-40 years of the same thing? And I'm not saying that makes it right in anyway, but let's get real.

People are looking at it from one of two perspectives: from the Preston Burke side, and from the Isaiah Washington side. Yeah, it's going to be weird to not see Burke roaming the halls, that cool element gone. But it's the Isaiah Washington side that should be getting more attention; yes, he called T.R. a faggot. It was wrong - even though there are plenty of people being called niggas and niggers; it's rampant as well, but it doesn't get a deal of attention because Blacks aren't the media martyrs that the GLBT community are right now. Example: Imus derides the Rutgers basketball team, as "nappy headed hos". Yeah, people initially were in shock, but it quickly wore off after he "apologized " while they were on Oprah. But IW calls him a faggot and the world is in an uproar. Yes, he said it twice. But afterwards, there was genuine remorse. If there wasn't, he wouldn't have went through all that trouble of doing PSAs and the like; but people still want to keep the spotlight on that like it is what we should be concerned with consistently.
Point blank, they should have kept him on the show. Watch them replace him with some docile character/actor.
