Looks like Grey's Anatomy will be going down the tube. Too much drama!!!! The fact is Isaiah Washington is the only person who could ever play the role of Preston Burke. I don't blame him for being mad as hell. I mad as hell that he will not be on the show anymore. I guess Katherine and T. R. got what they wanted. It's such a shame because I feel like Isaiah jumped through too many hoops only to be fired anyway. Shame on ABC. People in the past have done much worse. People will watch Season 4, at first for the curiosity, then the ratings will fall.

  2. Debs Says:

to loving greys all the time. I agree with eveything you´ve saiid espeiially that NO ONE shpuld call TRK names or punch & triangel PD. they both complete & uter respct. In fact the whole cast do. I for one won´t miss IW or Burke.

i Know Derek didn´t take the chief´s job but i hope gets Burke´s Job as cenior atttending. He´d be great at it & it wouldn´t take up too much of his time so Meredith wom´t feel negelcted.

  3. DixieGirl Says:

I think the thing we tend to lose sight of is - it wasn't just the verbal stuff...I'm of two minds whether that's a firing offense, for Washington, Don Imus, or anyone else....but -

apparently the cause for ABC not renewing was "a history of disruptive behavior" which manifested itself in an altercation with PD and some angry words, including the F word, then the GG thing.

I can see where IW would be angry after taking steps that, however tacitly, ABC had to encourage and expect as part of him continuing in the cast. I'm not sure how much the additional comments by the cast had to do with it - although you've got to admit, if they didn't feel comfortable with him, it would probably show on screen eventually.

I do commend the cast members that were low key about it, though.

    Should be interesting....

  4. horneyelevatorsinSGH Says:

he should come back for a cameo...

  5. cadiex Says:

I will not be buying season 3 or watching season 4 because of this.

  6. purplemerder Says:

I find it ridiculus to say that people will not watch the show because IW will not be on it. What if he left on his own.....would you watch the show then. The show will not be the same without him, but it will still be Greys Anatomy and an awesome show........ All the other wonderful actors and actress should not suffer because the decision was made to not have IW on the show anymore. I am sure it was a Disneys choice not shondas.

  7. Another IW fan... Says:

I completely 100% agree with joiedevivre. So read whatever they said & here's what I have to say -

Nobody can play the role of Preston Burke better than Isaiah Washington. The show won't be the same without him. How could ABC fire him after he fixed his mistake & moved on? That's ridiculous. I hope IW and ABC work something out so he will come back to the show...I know it's a long shot, but hey, Burke's my favorite character so that's all I can really hope for right now.

The only reason I'm giving Season 4 a shot is to see how Cristina is going to cope with everything that happened. Meredith is just boring & old now [no offense Ellen].

  8. Alessia Says:

I was in a situatiion similar to this...I had some problems on my job...and was let go at the end of the school year...but unlike IW..nobody told me that there were problems....and I was given some excuse as to why I was let go.

In situations like that...you just need to cut your losses...and realize it's time to move on..even if you weren't planning on it.

And as far as the show...I feel like it's a repeat of the situation with "Gilmore Girls" .....they changed the whole feel of the show when they got new writers...and it seems like this next season of Grey's will be completely different b/c they are changing all the characters....

I just know that the last few episodes were somewhat disappointing and as my mom said "depressing"...they lifted us up with all the romance...and now they're breaking everybody up!!!

  9. Kate Says:

First off Isaiah never punched patrick dempsey. And no i dont think that this is a race issue. um hello...Shonda the shows creator is an african american woman and has anyone looked at bailey lately? she is too. the chief well hes an african american too. not everything is a race issue people. but the main point here, everyone is saying oh he only did all that stuff to keep his job. well #1 you dont know if thats true. he may have been genuinely sorry. i dont believe any of you were on set when the fight happened were you? you dont know how it happened and who instagated who. but who cares. it was said and now its done he apologized sincere or not. #2 you have to make a living. if my job were in jeopardy id do what i had to to keep it. so even if he didnt mean what he said you cannot fault him for trying to keep his job. #3 i guarentee that AT LEAST 9 out of 10 of all you I.W. bashers are guilty of apologizing when you didnt really mean it. beacuse it was what you had to do at the time. also, yeah he talked trash about t.r. but youre talking crap about him so youre no better. all in all i think ABC is screwing him over. they told him that if he did all this stuff he wouldnt be fired. and now all of a sudden hes done? im outraged. he did what he was asked to do. they lied to him and thats unfair. Ive seen I.W. in alot of different roles and he is an amazing actor, and he brought A LOT to the show and as much as i would LOVE to see him make a few more appearances to tie up loose ends, i hope he dosent. why should they get more money and ratings because of his appearence after what theyve done to him. they dont deserve it. Also im a greys addict. love the show, never missed and episode, own both seasons, but the show is going down hill the story lines havent been what they were. and im just praying it gets better. i think greys is going to take a big fall losing isaiah and kate walsh at the same time.

    Comment by JB..
Right On!! I totally agree with U!!

  11. melrox Says:

I would be feeling equally misused after having been led to think that, should I address my anger problems, it would effect my job status. I would also have to balance that with the cold reality of the option clause on my contract. The comments accusing him of not being sincere due to keeping his job being a motivation are a bit harsh, however. No matter the motivation, he still put himself through the process, at least exposing himself to a growth opportunity.

Do not get me wrong. I think Mr. Washington probably did have a pattern of behavior that made him difficult to work with. I think that as long as it was held 'in house' it was maybe tolerable. But once his problems created public personal problems for others - Mr. Knight - he became a liability for everyone he worked with.

I can empathize with the man, but having worked with a poisonous individual, I can tell you that everyone else is now breathing a sigh of relief.

    I wish him well.

  12. hafsa Says:

I personally think that season 4 will be really good simply because; Shonda and her team are obviously not stupid, they have already seen, heard and read some if not all the public and fans reactions. I am guessing they have also come to realize what has gone wrong so far with their once upon a time classic writing. Therefore, something tells me they are definately not just going to sit there and do nothing especially when so many fans are threathing to stop watching while some have already lost interest. As for Burke character, yes GA is not going to be the same without him, however, people will get used to it. Just two things though, if by any chance Shonda let something happens btw der and lexie, many fans me included will be very very upset and secondly, STOP THE GIZZIE storyline, it just doenst seem right.

  13. steffi Says:

hi there! can I ask someone how do I join the forum? I keep opening up the forum but there is no way for me to post reply, it isnt clickable! I'd like to post my comments on this in the forum instead. thanks for the help! ^^ yes I couldnt imagine Cristina without Burke. It's like losing a soul. I hate the network for doing that to our fave couple x/

  14. Sarah Says:

They fired him for a real reason.

I don't think IW is better than PD.
Patrick is a great actor and a lovable man. IW is only a good actor.

  15. aha Says:

Sarah: IW is only a goog actor???

Then, if I might ask, how do you explain the awards he won???

And, by the way, do you know either PD or IW? How can you say that one of them is loveable and the other one is not? A person makes a mistake and that makes them unloveable???

Sorry, but your comment is just stupid!

  16. steffi Says:

ok, i agree with you. it's pathetic to think that you have right to judge, punish or even forgive(!) Isaiah for the things that he did not do to you.

and btw many talks are there that Patrick Dempsey is not the most saintly angel either. does that mean we should hate him? =/

can anyone help me answer my prev question please? ^scroll ahead 2 posts. =] thanks!

  17. Riley Says:

I'm glad he's gone. Did anyone see the E! interview where he had to stop it to tell them they need to be more organized?! okay and SERIOUSLY?! Going to rehab for saying a word- are you serious?!?! Is it just me, or is everytime a star does something socially unacceptable, they go to rehab?! I mean come on! What he needs is someone to hit him on the head and say, "How about trying to be courteous and respectful?!" I dunno, just my thought. Characterwise, Bourke was alright, although he wasn't my favorite still a good character-
I'll miss Bourke, but not Isaiah.

  19. Katie Says:

IW FIRED! This guy is an ACTOR! He played Burke so well --- finally, a young, cerebral, skillful black man who is not a cop or thug.
The relationship between Burke & Yang sizzles; both actors have real talent & FILL the screen! You are tossing THAT away!
No one really cares what IW said to whom on the set or anywhere else -- except the Gay Nation, of course. Did IW frighten TRK? Frankly, the guy whom he called a fagot is a fagot, really. Did he run crying to "mommy" or the "PC" police? Is he one of those helpless boys who needs protection?
TRK plays a Loser, looks like a Loser AND he got a raise? Does this mean he will have more face time?
George is one of the secondary characters who should have been culled. I surf the net when there are story lines that feature George. TRK is just unbelievably dull looking, curls, slack jaw & all. His "serious" facial expression seems to always be mouth open, slack jaw -- all that's needed is a dribble of drool. He doesn't "look smart enough" to play the role of a med school graduate.
I think that the only way for ABC to get it's money worth out of TRK is to "out" the character. Now, that would appease the Gay Nation & be quite a twist! It's too bad that he wasn't cast as a gay nurse transitioning to MD from the beginning. TRK looks perfect for the role!

  20. Kat Says:

I think it's immature of TRK to go on various talk shows and make matters worse by repeating what Isaiah said. Honestly, IW tried his hardest to make things better and kept his patience when this was happening; he kept repeating that "TR Knight is a great man"... hell if I was Isaiah I wouldn't be saying that after TR made everything 10 times worse.
If any of my views have changed on the show, it is my view of TR Knight because I think it was really unneccesary for doing what he did.. he could have just dropped it. I realise IW has said some other things.. but lets be serious here, calling someone a faggot shouldn't be blown into this much drama.

  21. aha Says:

Personally, I think that the whole matter made it very easy for TRK to out himself!

I mean, even if that hadn't happened, eventually he would have come out of the "closet"!

So - and I'm sure of that - without the gay slur incident people would have reacted differently than they did after IW's mistake!

When that happened and he was finally brave enough to tell the rest of the world he was pitied by almost everybody and there was absolutely no awkwardness whatsoever regarding his sexual orientation!

Everybody felt that they had to support "Bambi" and turn IW into the big bad wolve!

Please note: that's my personal opinion! It might not be exactly that way, but that's how I feel about the whole thing!

  22. Thing 4 Ferry Boats Says:

    TO JB:

Hey JB, did you know that people who are openly homophobic, like your idiot self, are actually found to be more turned on by homosexual behavior than those who have no problem with homosexuals. This comes from a proven scientific studyâ€"Google it. And who would have problems with homosexuals...they are BORN that way! And if you doubt this fact, look to species other than humans. Primates especially. And if you claim that homosexuals choose to be gay, I guess that means that you CHOSE to be straight. Ask yourself who would choose a life of oppression and hate crimes. Maybe that's why you chose to be straight...maybe you're afraid to let those true feelings show.....maybe you don't want a life of ridicule and oppression....maybe you're just a MORON like the majority of the human population is.

    Sincerely,
    An Informed, Rational, Intelligent Citizen

  23. vicky Says:

i love IW and at first he was the ONLY reason i even watched the show. then as time went on, i grew to love christina yang as well. those two were the only reasons why i watched the show. merideth is the sorriest, neediest, whiniest chick i know. i want mcdreamy to have someone else. i'm tired of seeing him always giving in that relationship and not getting anything in return. She's a grown behind woman. I'm tired of seeing him babysitting his so called dark and twisty girlfriend. She's becoming more and more right for Omalley. That's just how dull she is. I 'm one that has no desire to continue to watch Greys now that IW is gone. If I do it's to see what Christina is going to do, or to hear her talk about him. Heck, whether or not chief gets his wife back is more interesting to me than the new interns or the new sister. everyone else is boring. they were using IW and they are still using him even though he is history. they gave him an enema mixed with alcohol and powdered glass, then screwed him with a broken bottle! and we're suppose to be okay with it. I'm sorry, they used that man. they wrote that amazing scene of him walking up the aisle to end things with the woman he loves, knowing that was the last time we were going to see him. he didn't even know that, that was the end for him. that show is not going to make it eventually. maybe in the first few episodes just to see how thiings pan out, but after that, people are going to be watching "the office' and "my name is earl" and whatever else comes on after that. they killed IW, and they killed the show. don't get me started on TR and his little best friend whinning and running their mouth on television over nothing. i blame them the most. what goes around comes around.

  24. Carol Says:

The third season wrap-up makes sense now. Burke's apartment is cleaned out. Yang has no idea where he's gone. The first thing I said to myself when I saw that scene was, 'Isiah's not going to be back'. In my view, Shonda knew Isiah wasn't going to return and so wrote the show (or someone else wrote it) to reflect that.

If there's a lawsuit, will his attorney use that scene as proof of a pre-arranged situation to make it easier to just say 'so long'? I don't know, I'm not an attorney. But I think Isiah has grounds for a lawsuit. He may not win, but with all Isiah did (the PSA, etc.) some of which he was TOLD to do, it seems that ABC set up a situation (albeit unspoken) where Isiah would keep his job. If his attorney can prove that, all of this could come back to bite ABC in the butt.

As for 'should Isiah go back to Grey's to wrap up the storyline' (which WAS the original question here, folks) NO...Why would he WANT to?

I was very vocal here about the stuff Isiah said about TR Knight. I felt he should have been fired. But since he did what ABC wanted him to with the counseling and everything else, now I just feel sorry for him. I have no doubt Isiah will find steady work elsewhere.

  25. K Says:

I agree, vicky. The only reason I watched the show was for Cristina & Burke. Seriously, they made the show.

Know what gets me? At the end of the season, everyone was wondering if both T.R Knight and Isaiah Washington were going to leave. Now we know IW is gone [ridiculous!] and TRK is still on. Look how many people are extremely disappointed & upset that Isaiah Washington won't be back, but nobody gave a damn that T.R. Knight is coming back...

That should show ABC that their choice to let IW go was very bad on their part...I hope it comes back to haunt them.

I hope IW gets his own show. That'd be great! The only reason I'll tune in to season 4 is to see Cristina cope & talk about Burke. That'll be interesting.
