Isaiah Washington to Appear on Larry King; Gives Revealing Interview to Gay Blogger
That's right, even more news about Isaiah Washington.
It's not that we wish to continue discussing the firing of Isaiah Washington ad nauseam. But new developments continue to arise, and the drama seems to be becoming stranger by the day.
That said, what we try to do is present all the facts we come across, as they are presented to us, and let readers decide for themselves.
Michael Ausiello from TV Guide reports that the former Grey's Anatomy star will sit down for a discussion with Larry King on CNN's Larry King Live on Monday, July 2.
This will be the actor's first TV interview since being fired. In an attempt to tell his side of the story, expect the interview to cover the incidents with T.R. Knight and Patrick Dempsey, the Golden Globes, the PSA, his firing, a potential law suit against ABC, and the media frenzy.
Isaiah Washington now claims that Patrick Dempsey agrees with the fact that T.R. Knight should have been fired. In a recent interview with gay rights activist/BET host Keith Boykin, the actor said:
"I know Patrick Dempsey has supported me by stating that if there is anyone that needs to be fired, it is T.R. Knight, because he has created such a negative environment on the set."
Follow this link to read Boykin's interview with Washington. Then come back and tell us what you think about his remarks.

what a load of bull, isaiah washington is a complete jerk, accusing tr knight of those things, which are clearly wrong, hes just digging an even deeper hole for himself, the fool
June 26th, 2007 8:21 AM
Wow ! I am sure Patrick Dempsey will be delighted when he reads this.
What a «friend» !
June 26th, 2007 8:32 AM
burke was one of my favorite people on the show but im still going to watch it even without him. But if george was fired, i dont think i would watch it anymore. And good job being such a great friend to patrick dempsey. wow, Isaiah is such a jerk!
June 26th, 2007 8:44 AM
I'm sure Patrick is just chuffed to bits at Isaiah's comments!
No-one will ever truly know what happened except those directly involved. Maybe Isaiah is telling the truth, maybe his comments in that interview are all true. We don't know. But to me it looks like he's being a tad pathetic with his "if I'm goin' down, you're goin' down with me" attitude.
I'm sure Isaiah is angry at being fired and whatnot, who wouldn't be? I can see that Isaiah wants to clear his name, anyone would, and set the record straight, in his favour â€" I can understand that. I just don't think doing it this way is working for him.
June 26th, 2007 9:57 AM
Does this man even have a PR team at all working for him? No matter if this insane theory is true or not he is handling this entire situation wrong. He was fine in the beginning, but this is just....well, he's hurting himself and others more this way.

What a shame that this seems to have NO end! I am truly sorry that IW was fired from the show because I did like the Dr. Burke character but obviously there had to be much more to this story than IW is telling where he is concerned or they would NOT be firing him from the show. No one but those involved will ever really know what transpired between them that day when the initial argument took place...and personally I don't want to know. That is their business to handle, not ours to know or judge. I would think there were alot of things taken in consideration other than the argument and the GG episode when this decision was made to let him go! I am a huge PD fan and I have NEVER heard anyone say one unkind thing about him in anyway! I'm sorry that IW feels he needs to make comments about other castmates to clear his name......which looks to me like he is only hurting himself. I know in all of the interviews that I have seen with PD when he has been asked about this whole situation...he has been very supportive of IW and felt things were being work out among the entire cast. Never anything negative or nothing that made you feel there was still problems like IW is implying. Therefore, I am hoping this will end soon and GA will start out on a great new season 4 with all of this behind them!

I believe Isaiah. I think this whole thing was blown out of proportion and I'm glad he is speaking publicly about it. Gay issues are a hot topic these days so ABC has to save face in order to keep the their viewers from turning away from Grey's. That's pretty sad when they let go one of their best actors just to save face. I love TR, but I think he's a coward for making it a gay issue, if he can't handle the fire, don't lash it out on someone else. Ok so people, this is my opinion, don't hate me!
June 26th, 2007 10:54 AM
I was one on this forum who was strongly in favor of Isaiah being fired (at the beginning of this mess) now I feel sorry for him with the way Disney made him 'jump through hoops' with regard to the counseling and the other things, then they fire him.
HOWEVER, that said--Isaiah has NO business dragging Patrick into this. Even if Patrick did say TR Knight should have been fired let PATRICK say that. Isaiah, you are a stupid a**. Use your head! Keep your mouth shut about your former co-workers, if others want to speak up on your behalf, they will. If they don't want to...oh well...maybe they have reasons.
June 26th, 2007 11:09 AM
Okay, I could have gone along with TR Knight using Isaiah's use of the "F" word to further his own agenda, i.e. get a better/more interesting storyline. I could have believed that. Wouldn't be the first time some used a hapstance occurance to their advantage.
But that TR Knight is working on a conspiracy to get rid of two other actors on the set?
Huh?
Especially when one of the actors is PATRICK DEMPSEY? Beloved by millions?
Seriously? Isaiah expects us to believe that?
He should have stopped while he was ahead. Or at least... not this far behind.
June 26th, 2007 11:10 AM
This is just getting tired and old. Let it go.
June 26th, 2007 11:47 AM
CHANDRA IS ON ELLEN TOMMOROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
June 26th, 2007 11:56 AM
When you are the victim of an injustice you fight like hell and that's what he is doing. I hope that he knows what he is doing!!!
June 26th, 2007 12:01 PM
This guy is a waste. He is trying to drag everyone under the bus with him. FK!! IW. What a prick.. He shouldnt even put him and PD in the same sentence...
June 26th, 2007 12:06 PM
As a person who does PR for a living...you really dont't control your clients, you clean up after them. With that said, Howard Bragman should have kept HIS mouth shut. But as far as Washington coming out now, that's good PR. He is clearing his name. I am for one glad he is. It's about time he came out and I always knew this was purely calculated by T.R. Knight. Knight completely twisted everything, and from day one, he lied when he said "I heard Washington call me a f---." He never heard anything!! He wasn't even in the room. And for all you know, Dempsey and others could have said let people know how I feel about it, but the Grey's cast can't let it come out directly from their mouth or ABC can sue them. And if they didn't want him to divulge info on private convos, they should have thought about that before they let him go down for the rap and staying silent. Like Washington said, he spent all this time trying to do things for the "family" but where was the family when he needed them. They fired him. He owes them absolutely nothing.
June 26th, 2007 12:18 PM
I believe IW, and I stand behind him 100%.
TR needs to be fired.
June 26th, 2007 12:36 PM
Well, apparently, you don't need good judgment to work in PR...
PR people should be expected to at least advise their clients, I say.
June 26th, 2007 12:55 PM
IW is just pathetic. Talking about a conspiracy. Come on TR not an agent. It worthless even to commet on IW behavior. Now dragging Dempsy into to it. IW trying to get everyone on his side and straghten his career. What he doeen't notice is that he's dragging his name deeper into the mud, and not to mentiion behaving like a big baby/idiot.
June 26th, 2007 12:56 PM
this man is obviously trying to take down dempsey with him :S
not cool dude not cool
June 26th, 2007 1:46 PM
Make's you wonder if he's telling the truth. Considering they left the storylines open to where either one could be let go.
June 26th, 2007 2:02 PM
to Dottir: It's not like a client comes up to you and says, "may I be an ass in public today?" Obviously, you tell them I think it'd be best if you do this or that, but ultimately, your client will do whatever they want to, and you clean up after them. Washington clearing his name is good PR. It's the basis of crisis communications. Look at some of the major oops! in history (tylenol, exxon, merck). I am not debating whether these examples were right or wrong in the first place, but if something is published about you that is not true, you counter. But then again, you do not do PR, so I wouldn't expect you to know...or comment on it.

Thanks for posting the link to that story, it reminded me that, regardless of my own personal feelings towards both men, there are two sides to every story.
June 26th, 2007 2:36 PM
I believe the man should stick up for himself but leave Patrick out of it. Weather it happen or not the way he said it did and unless you can prove it why waste your breath. Personal I think this show got bigger than what some of them were ready to handle. I'm not totally sure about TR because his contract talk's were kind of quiet but it was obvious that Katie wanted a lot bigger piece of the pie. I do believe she deserved what Sandra and the other's got but if she thought she earned more than that she was wrong. About the only thing I have heard Patrick say about it was that some took it in stride and some were over whelmed by it. Out of the other 11 cast members only 2 have made a big deal out of what Isaiah said that I'm aware of. I just hope it does'nt destroy the show we have all come to love.
June 26th, 2007 3:31 PM
It seems to me that the Media overlooked the main reason this all started. IW got physical with PD when PD was late to the set after meeting with one of the writers. IW was upset that they were getting a late start on the set and he took it out on PD and TR. He lost control over is anger and became verbal and physical abusive. IW has been rumored to have a very bad temper. I too liked the character Dr Burke and he will be missed. I hope that IW can move pass this and focus on his future acting career so the rest of the Grey's Anatomy cast can too.
June 26th, 2007 3:34 PM
IW has decided to relate the chronology of events as he experienced them. Simple. He is not trying to "bring his ex-colleagues down" nor is he trying to hurt PD. I believe these are things that really happened and IW is choosing to talk about them honestly; some may not like what he is revealing but what was that saying about the truth again?... Why is it easy to see IW as the liar/baddie in this tale? And more worryingly, why is PD (or TRK for that matter) seen as some sort of perfect Mr Nice Guy? Are we confusing the person with the character they play on screen? Just because Burke is arrogant and dominant this somehow translates into IW being a jerk? And Derek Shephard is softspoken and gentle so therefore he is honest, never speaks badly of anyone? Give me a break. They are HUMAN beings in case you've forgotten with all the same flaws or imperfections as Joe Bloggs.
Who knows how IW feels? I always say that no matter how much you rationalise it, you cannot truly undestand what another individual is going through unless you have lived the life and experiences of that person. So I would not be too quick to judge him. I feel his IS angry and hurt and feels betrayed, let down, abandoned, sold down the river ..all these things and maybe more. This is the way he chooses to express his pain and hopefully heal. If what he is revealing now proves embarassing for a few, well tough. He now knows you never gave a toss about him.

Didi, I felt I had to comment on your post. You say that the GA actors are human...yes they are, no one here is disputing that in the least. Some of us here are saying that IW should stop talking about this and move on. Some are saying he should stick up for himself, and still some others are saying that IW can go ahead and do what he wants, but keep other people out of it.
IW may not be trying to hurt Patrick, no one said IW was. But, at the VERY LEAST, if IW wants to defend himself against Disney firing him, he should do it in a way where he doesn't have to say 'So and so said this about TR Knight'. IW shouldn't have to say anything like that in his defense. If IW's case against Disney is strong, he shouldn't have to mention anyone who is (supposedly) on his side. Seems to me, so far, no one has come out to defend IW. They all look to be distancing themselves from this, likely because they've been told to by Disney Co. (and, they're also tired of this BS). If there's a lawsuit, look for Dempsey, et al, to be on the witness stand, or to give the court a written statement to get out of having to appear in court.
Seems to me your post was pretty emotional even though you were saying that WE should be rational about this.
