Will New Grey's Anatomy Guest Star Spell More Trouble For Derek & Meredith?
Perhaps it's appropriate that as Addison - once the most hated TV wife in America - mulls her departure from Seattle Grace, a new Grey's Anatomy guest star may spell trouble for Meredith and Derek.
According to E! Online's Kristin Veitch, sources close to Grey's Anatomy report that Chyler Leigh â" the former Reunion star who plays the woman in the bar we saw in the previews for this week - has just been offered a role in a multiple-episode arc for next season.
Fans no doubt hope that her storyline has something to do with Cristina or Burke or Dr. Bailey or Callie or Izzie or... pretty much anyone but Derek Shepherd.
But if the first few seasons of Grey's Anatomy are any indication, we wouldn't count on it. Even if they belong together, the producers seem to devise new ways to drive Mer and Der apart.

Why can't the writers just leave Meredith and Derek alone for at least one episode and let them chill? It seems like every time they try to recover from some dent in their relationship they don't even get half way until they get hit even harder making that dent an everlasting hole in their relationship - they're the most perfect-doomed couple.

we shouldn't jump to anything.(sometimes those previews can be exaggerate things or they can be one scene placed with other. Kind of like when they were showing previews for the addison spin-off and they showed addison saying that she wanted a baby and then they cut to Derek's reaction? As if Derek would really care if addison wanted a baby)
She could be a love interest for Mark Solan. He will after all be single next year and he needs someone to pay attention to him right now.
But if she is here for Derek he'll most likely reject her but he'll be flattered that he was hit on by someone;it'll give him an ego boost and hopefully a reality check.(have any of you guys notice thoe that the woemn who do hit on Derek are young? Is he having a mid-life criss)?
Let's just see what happens this thrusday.

there better be hope. hopefully there's something medically wrong w/ her, derek tells her he's taken and she sees mark and goes after him. but that would be best case scenario and lets face it, with this show, do we ever get the best case scenario?

Hopoefully she is not Lexie, Mer's stepsister?, because she is pretty and all, but she don't look like Mer, or Tatcher, or Susan or Molly!

All I have to say is if Derek starts something with this new girl then I'm done watching greys it keeps me upset all the time. My husband keeps telling me it is just a show. But I can not take this any more. All the back and forth. Derek said he loved her forever. What has happen to that. I know that Mc Vet said he would hurt her again. If he is right I done with this BS. People do not break up and get back and break up like they have. They learn they are just not good for each other and go their seperate ways. But lately Dereck is self absorbed and is becoming a jerk. What is up Sonia? Mer deserses to be happy for more than a week at a time.

Could it be possible that it is someone from New York that Derek and Mark both know. I read some where that someone wants more than just medical help from Mark. Just seeing her talk to Derek has her already being called the barslut/barwhore before we even know who she is. But for the true MerDer fans that is all it takes. It still makes me nerves for Meredith to be anywhere near Mark. It may also be a stretch that it's one of Derek's sisters he has three we hav'nt seen yet. It's hard to believe the season finale is almost here where did the season go so fast.

Is this a repeat of the season one finale between Derek and Mer? Probably. I mean geez. How much more COULD they screw up Meredith? I suppose the could get raped and shot and then everyone could stop being friends with her.

I was so upset when I read this info today about this person being offered a role for a few episodes especailly since we are all thinking she will be tied to Dereck! I had already convinced myself she was nobody and the promo was just to get everyone upset! (which they did a great job at that). YOU Don't Mess With our Mer/Der Shonda!
I had already thought of a great scenario about what could happen Thursday night........
Dereck is in the bar and that Mcgirl asked to buy him a drink...naturally he is flattered that she is paying him some attention (since lately Mer has not) and turns her down for the drink. He does strike up a conversation with her and talks about his relationship with Meredith. Meredith walks in and sees him at the bar with the Mcgirl. (She is not real happy with what she sees.) The Mcgirl excuses herself (for whatever reason) and Meredith goes up to McDreamy and says..."Hi, I'm Meredith Grey and reaches for his hand. He says "what are you doing?" and she says, "I'm so sorry for not letting you in, lets start over", etc.
And he gives her that McDreamy smile and they kiss!!!!! Wouldn't that be a great thing to happen?????? (If SHonda only knew how much we obsess over this show and in particular Mer/Der)!! I'm really anxious for THursday night, but in a way very nervous because I'm afraid that the Mcgirl could be trouble!! (Then I thought, maybe somebody needs to put alittle fire underneath Meredith), I just don't want him (Dereck)to do the McNasty with her! (ha) He loves Meredith and I hope he remembers that when that Mcgirl is smiling at him......(I already don't like her and I don't even know her)...(ha) ............Very Worried!!!!!

I agree with Thing 4 Ferry Boats. The collapsed woman in the elevator is Adele. Also, I think the new woman is going to be Meredith's sister Lexie and that is why she is on the show for several episodes in season 4. I don't think any thing at all will happen between Derek and this new girl. She is probably in town for her mother's funeral and there will be some story arch about Meredith and this step sister who is also a doctor. Maybe she will be a new intern in season four wanting to move back home because she is worried about her father. It will be a relationship between Meredith and Lexie, not Lexie and Derek.
They play such games with our heads. Franky it is beginning to make me less of a fan. I loved this show. I love Burke, but I like most of the other characters too. Now I have had an entire year of nervousness. The writers had him shot in season two, left with a tremor and a horrible secret for most of season three, now after this build up and promise of a wedding since Shonda's People interview back in October, everyone is predicting a break up. That isn't why I watch television. I watch to be entertained not a nervous wreck about a fictional couple. Greys used to have a great blend of humor and angst. Now it is just one heart break after another.
I really believe that Shonda will play with Meredith and Derek for the entire length of the show. Friends did the same thing with Rachel and Ross and that formula seemed to work really well for them. The difference is there was so much humor on Friends that you could forgive the breakups between Rachel and Ross. We don't have that much humor, even less that usual this season, on Greys, so the break ups are just sad and depressing.
I am trying hard to stay positive about Burke and Cristina's relationship in the wake of all of the speculation and rumors. We have watched both characters grow and change in positive ways all leading to this wedding. If it doesn't happen I am through waiting for some happy resolution. But, I have no doubt that Derek and Meredith will never be a part for long. That is Shonda's schtick. Give us a little happiness and then snatch it away. She doesn't care much about Burke and Cristina so I don't have confidence that she will let them stay true to their characters and stick with each other. But, she is committed to Derek and Meredith. Listen to her podcasts and read her blogs. Derek and Meredith are the big deal and everything else is secondary, even Gizzie that for some reason we are having shoved down our collective throats. I really don't think the Mer/Der fans have anything to worry about. Without tension between Meredith and Derek she doesn't have a show, so they have to stay connected.

I can't say I'm, done because I don't know if I'm gonna stay with my promise, but I know two things
1- poor woman, we don't even know her and we hate her already LOL!, It's funny, because I call her character sluttybarwhore hahahaha, so I hate her already, but she (the actress) seems nice, and she is cute too ^^, so, only hating sluttybarwhore, not her real life alter-ego LOL!
And 2- I don't want this girl to be Lexie, why?. Well, Mer and her father have a really bad relationship, and the slap thing has made the things worse, so, Mer doesn't need to have her stepsister working with her at the hospital, because this girl is daddy's little girl, the daughter Tatcher loves so much and is "super proud" of (according to Molly). Mer doesn't need to remember every day that she never had that with her father, and the situation could be worse if this girl have something with Derek, why?, the answer is simple: Mer felt like crap when she has to deal with Der married to a super gorgeus perfect and always dressed up woman, so, imagine how she is gonna feel when she watch her super pretty, talented and "daddy's little girl" stepsister having something with Derek?... Inferiority complex, people, this is what is gonna happen, and writing Meredith like that again (self pity, inferiority "she looks like a movie star and I don't" complex, and probably again into the bottle sleeping with wrong guys)?, not original, season 2 2.0... total and complete garbage!
And I don't want garbage, I want my show back!!, and messing with the main couple introducing a possible couple wrecker sister of the main female character?, and then messing with the other favorite couple's wedding making mad a lot of fans (including me, because I love Cristina and Burke too)?, that is not my show, that is soap opera, and if I wanted to watch soap opera, as a Latin American viewer, I'd better stayed watching soap operas from Colombia, Mexico or Venezuela instead of waste my time watching something good the writers are messing with.

In her mind, maybe Shonda planned a great future for MerDer but the fans are wanting to see them happy now. Another rival won't be acceptable.

I will watch till May 17 and if my passion for GA did not return I will stop to be obsessed with it. There are enough other series that are worth my time. I still have season 1 and 2 to heal my painful disappointment of part of season 3.
What I would miss is your company.

Somebody on another web site heard he was a psycologist that is supose to help one of Derek's patients. Maybe Derek ask her advise about him and Meredith . It's possible because when we hear them say she could stir things up for MerDer we just asume it in a bad way. Derek said he did'nt know what to do. Let's face it they love each other and at this point they need help because they are not getting anywhere on their own. A happy thought is she can help them in season 4 and by season 5 thay can get married then by season 6 they can have a baby. OK maybe I am getting carried away but this is my favorite couple on my favorite show I can wish.

well hopefully you're right, about the psycologist thing. i agree with everyone i cant stand mer/der broken up AGAIN. this is not Friends, and even ross and rachel drove me crazy w/ their break ups. but they were always over stupid crap. mer/der keeping having wives come into the picture, and vets, and near death/suicide experiences. now what? mcslutty barwhore whoever she is asking mer's mcdreamy if he wants a drink? can i just say WTF SHONDA?!
