Prior to his driving the Pace Car at yesterday's Indianapolis 500, Good Morning America interviewed Patrick Dempsey to discuss his racing passion - as well as what's going on with his character on Grey's Anatomy!
Patrick may not have a clue what's to become of the troubled Derek and Meredith after the way Season 3 ended, but in listening to him, it's plain to see why this Dr. McDreamy is revered by fans on and off the set.

Patrick is just so awesome. He just seems so down to eath and just knows how to live life. Im with him though I hope he and Meredith get back together. It was funny when he said his wondering eye didn't get him the attention he needed.

i am guessing derek is not at all happy with the Lexie grey issue, this is not the first time he is indirectly hinting about it, good.

I think Patrick is as anxious as we are for season 4! He can't wait to see what happens either! And it sounds good to hear him say that he hopes he and Meredith get back together after having a depressing year! He is so cute talking about everything, especially Lexie.(ha) I don't think he likes the idea of her being an issue for Mer/Der either! Just the way he comments about it. And naturally, he says he knows nothing about what lies ahead for anybody!

That's our McDreamy! Maybe Shonda should take a hint from Patrick. He want's Derek and Meredith together just as much as everyone else. They need to have some good old fashion bf/gf fun and less drama.

I thought ellen pompeo was suppose to join patrick dempsey for the race, but nobody seems to see her there, what happened? anyone?

That's what I thought. She was suppose to fly in but the heavy rain may have caused problems with her flight.

Yeah, I thought about the weather too. Maybe thats why she was unable to go. What a shame! Would have loved to have seen Patrick taking her for a spin around the track!

I am such a fangirl. My parents live near indianapolis, so I went home to visit them for the sole purpose of going to the indy 500 to see him in his pace car. Somehow, being within 20 meters of mcdreamy, even if he was wearing a helmet and suit and in a little orange car, was enough to make me swoon... And enough to spend all day in the rain surrounded by drunk people worth it!
