E! Online: Isaiah Washington Job Searching
Take this with a large grain of salt, since, if you recall, "experts" such as TV Guide's Michael Ausiello reported that Isaiah Washington was a goner last winter when the controversy over his anti-gay remarks swirled.
Still, E! Online's Kristin Veitch says she has some dirt on whether or not Isaiah Washington will be staying on Grey's Anatomy.
She writes:
"I've now heard from various reliable sources that Isaiah has been taking meetings in New York and Los Angeles in search of a new job that would take place during the coming TV season, so it certainly appears that Isaiah's Grey's Anatomy days are over.
"Insiders at ABC tell me "not everyone will be coming back" to Grey's this fall, and although T.R. Knight's fate was also left hanging in the balance after the season finale, I'm hearing he's gonna be back (gotta wrap up that love triangle, not to mention his betrothed is the new chief resident)!
"But like I said, Isaiah looks to be a goner. Makes that scene of Cristina ripping the shackle off her neck while sobbing "I'm free" and the Chief's lecture to Burke that he's "disappointed" in him all the more poignant, no?"
Contrarily, Washington's publicist, Howard Bragman, said there's no indication his client won't be staying on Grey's next fall. Until we hear anything definitive from Isaiah or from ABC, consider all of this speculation.

Isaiah can not leave the show!!! Shonda said it herself that there is only one Preston Burke and if there was anyone who was born to play that part it was Isaiah Washington. The show will not be the same without him if he leaves. Christina better grow her eyebrows back and go after her man!!!

Yeh exactly, what a mess, i didnt know people are very sensitive and so unforgiven. If God can forgive people all the time...... well its not my place to say...just a thought

No!!! He can't leave the show! I like Preston Burke and they can't just leave Cristina like that. She'd be miserable. Imagine a miserable Cristina, that's crazy!

Kristen often gets things wrong or only partially right. I hope that is the case with this report. I think they are still in negotiations about his contract. It seems to me, not really knowing anything about it, that if he was fired, there would be no reason not to disclose this. I can see keeping it a secret until after the season finale, but now, there is no reason not to make a public announcement. So, I think it is still a bit up in the air. As a fan, I intend to write and email everyone I can to let them know that I would not continue to watch the show without Isaiah on it, and that is the truth. If he goes to a different show, I would follow him to the new show. However, what I hope is that he stays on Grey's and that Burke and Cristina can resolve their differences. I don't believe for a minute that she is "free". She loves him enough to let his mother shave her eyebrows off, for goodness sake, and he loves her enough to not make her go through with a wedding that she doesn't really want. Neither of them are free. Let's hope they have a chance to get it right.

Because the media has started making up stories, I don't listen to any of the speculations and rumors. I check the Associated Press to find out what's going on.

Burke Backer...once again I agree with you 100%. I would follow IW to his new show, however, I still really want him to be on Grey's Anatomy. Burke is amazing & he and Cristina need to work out their differences & get back together.

I know I already posted this on another "Grey's" website, but I'll say it again. WE LOVE BURKE! WE LOVE ISIAIAH WASHINGTON! HE CAN'T LEAVE THE SHOW! Beautiful (gorgeous) man and amazing actor. What would "Grey's" be without Burke????
