The cast of the Grey's Anatomy spin-off starring Kate Walsh and Taye Diggs is really clicking, Diggs tells People.
"They're great. We have really great chemistry," said Diggs of his fellow cast members Thursday at the opening of the new club Runway, in New York City.
The initial two-hour episode of Greys Anatomy, which is expected to start the spin-off series and is titled "The Other Side of This Life" (Parts I & II), has just finished filming, according to Diggs.
"We're hoping people dig it," Diggs said.
ABC plans to test out the show with a "back-door pilot," an expanded two-hour episode of Grey's Anatomy, USA Today reported in February.
The air date for the episode has not been set by ABC, officially, although sources tell us it will be May 3.
Taye Diggs, who said he plays a "general practitioner" on the show (rumored to be called Private Practice), was expectedly coy when asked if he could reveal any key plot details of the spin-off.
"Plot what? Secrets?" he said. "I can't tell you! It's a secret."
Grey's Anatomy creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes is writing the first episode, which, according to several accounts, will feature Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh), mulling an out-of-town job offer.

I wish them all great success and really hope that this new show will not dilute the original. I will miss Addison in Seattle.

Yeah, I agree with Burke. Addison leaving Seattle will just result in Meredith and Derek being a Happy couple. NO MORE DRAMA IN MY LIFE. XD (That's such a lie. Addison is like the guru of relationships!)
Like most of the people, I'm STILL Skeptical. But I'll give it a try. May 3rd, two hours...!

Meredith and Derek are a (happy, sad or other) couple with or without Addison. ABC wrote a spinoff for her because she was in the show only for the triangle and then she lost the focus.

I agree with Calliope. Derek loves Meredith with or without Addison in the show.
I think her fans will be happy to see her like a lead actress.

I'm still not sure how this is going to turn out, but I wish them well. I'm going to miss Addie at SGH!!

I will miss Addison! I have only one question... Why so soon??? I don't get the need to do a spinoff so quickly! I'll give it a try though... although, i still say you cannot get better than Grey's-the-origional-Anatomy!

At first, I was weirded out about the spin off thing. Now, I can't wait! I seen a poll that said 85% dont like the spin off idea, but 68% of them will still watch it. LOVE!

Addison isn't an original. GA will be better without her. If the spinoff will be a flop, it will be a failure for KW. EP wasn't popular when GA aired and now GA is the best TV show ever.

I can agree with you susy - that being that Addison isn't one of the originals. But, saying that we don't need her, I'm not so certain. She - without realizing it - brought Meredith and Derek together and then she has been somewhat of a peace keeper to everyone at the hospital. The thing I love about her though is that she never denied, or tried to say that she didn't cheat on Derek. I think deep down she is a good person and she will be missed at SGH!
