Thursday's Episode: "My Favorite Mistake"
Fantastic news: We won't have to wait until March 29 to see how the whole George-Izzie hook-up debacle and everything else from "Scars and Souvenirs" plays out.
Grey's Anatomy returns with a new episode this Thursday, "My Favorite Mistake," instead of the originally-scheduled repeat.
Why the change? Apparently, ABC was encouraged by the opening-week numbers of October Road following Grey's Anatomy last Thursday, and didn't want to lose any of that momentum going into its second episode.
With the possible exception of American Idol, there's certainly no greater momentum source on TV right now than an original episode of Grey's Anatomy.
Whether one can actually stomach October Road is another story.
But hey, if it means an all-new Grey's Anatomy instead of a rerun, we're all for it, right? Sure. Just go with it.
In "My Favorite Mistake," Callie's father (Hector Elizondo) visits Seattle Grace and meets George, who's in no shape for an introduction. Meanwhile, the candidates for the Chief's position are interviewed, including Colin Marlow (Roger Rees). Alex continues to help Jane Doe (Elizabeth Reaser) find her place in the world, and George and Izzie... well...

I love the picture of george and izzie. very cutee. *sigh* I'm such a merder fan...i love in the preview when mer goes "that's my theory" and der smiles at her...gah. I need rehab for grey's anatomy =]

that picture of George and Izzie is ADORABLE and I'm SO glad they decided to play a new episode this week instead of a stupid rerun.
But I have to comment on what you said about October Road...

Seriously?!?! Are you kidding me, I thought that the first episode was excellent, and I can't believe Laura Prepon from That 70's Show is on it, it makes it all the better. And Bryan Greenberg is SUCH a hunk, hotter than "McDreamy" I might add, even though "McDreamy" isn't all that hot anyway...
Don't get me wrong I am by far THE BIGGEST fan of Grey's Anatomy I'm completely in LOVE with it and I have the seasons on DVD, and I TiVo all of the new episodes so I can watch them again. But I just have to say that October Road is pretty good too, and it's nice to have a good show to watch after Grey's Anatomy, even though no show can top it.

....Something tells me it's going to end up in everyone realizing it was a misunderstanding and going on with their lives. George is still gonna be kicked out though 'cause Dr.Torres' is tough like that. Grawr.

omggg. Can't wait! I seriously think I am addicted to this show.. now joke. But I'm so mad because my birthday is in 2 weeks (on a Thursday) and I thought there was going to be a new episode of Grey's and my friends were going to come over to see it... darn reruns!!
But anyways.. I really hope something evolves of this George/Izzie (I hate the Gizzie thing.. it's no MerDer) thing. I just want to see Izzie happy for once.. but I wonder if she will try to cover it up like they never had sex.. since George doesn't seem to remember. But he could just be faking because he doesn't want anything like his Meredith thing. you know?
Oh and.. I totally agree with you, Bright&Shiny:). I watched October Road, and it's no Grey's.. but it looks wicked good. I wonder if the little boy is Nick's. omgg how dramatic would that be?!

Hey I just thought of something, Izzie says she slept...with the wrong person. What if she slept with Alex. I don't know i might be WAY off but i just thought of that.

OK, I so cannot wait for tonight's episode. I'm still trying to figure out what I think about George and Izzie. I mean, I really don't like George and Callie and it really is about time for Izzie to move on from Denny (I can't believe I actually just said that b/c I LOVE Denny but it's true). Anyway, I can't wait it's going to be a kick ass episode.
Oh, and I really liked October Road as well. I hope it lasts. It'll be nice to have something to watch right after grey's

OK, I had read that Shonda Rhimes said that a pretty good amount of time had passed between Meredith's accident and "Scars and Souvenirs." Which was why Meredith seemed to show absolutely no ill effects (and her near-death experience was barely even mentioned) in the last episode. Annoying, but whatever. OK, then why has Mark only been celibate(sp) for 8 days?! That makes no sense.
I just wish the Grey's writers would start thinking things through before just throwing shit together. I'm sorry, but after last week's episode, I was really pissed. It was like the three-episode "Meredith almost dying" arc had never even happened. What the hell was the point of all that drama if it didn't pay off in the end? From what we've seen so far, nothing came out of it. No lovey-dovey scenes between Meredith and Derek. No nice, funny, enjoyable scenes between Meredith and friends. No life-changing new outlook on life for Meredith. No lasting effects from almost dying. She wasn't sore, she wasn't sad, she wasn't joyful to be alive. She was nothing.
You could MAYBE say that the budding relationship between Meredith and her new family came out of it. But in the episode, they made it seem to have more to do with the death of Ellis.
And, I've said it once, and I'll say it again... for the love of all that is holy, WHY does every pair of characters need to sleep together?! I really liked Izzie and George's friendship, and I don't understand why the writers had to go and mess with it by adding sex into the scenario.
Anyway, I sure as hell hope that tonight's episode makes up for the crap I was subjected to last week. It was seriously the ONLY episode of Grey's Anatomy I was not at least somewhat satisfied with. I didn't laugh. Not even once. I hope it wasn't an indication of the direction the show is heading.

HOLY CRAPP!!! That was an amazing episode.
First and foremost... MerDer=Lovee. You can really tell how much Derek cares about Meredith and I love it. It's so adorable.. I hope she realizes what a good thing she has. I wished that when he was saying his 10 year thing he would have said.. I just see myself with her... but whatever.
& POOR IZZIE. that girl has everything good taken away from her.. PLEASE GEORGE.. leave Callie and get with Izzie.. anyone with me? I know they both want it.

i was so happy that George didn't tall Callie
i don't want him and Izzie to get together.
I think alex is going to fall in love with Jane Doe or Eva whatever her name is,
that or him and Addison will get together, but he has a better shot with the mystery girl.

OMG! What to say to that?
Well, i'll begin with mer and der. Love that it seemed like they bonded over mark. I was glad at the end when they finally made up about the whole thing and were together.
With Burke and Chritina, I absolutely LOVE them together. I think they are the perfect couple! Loved at the end when she climbed over top of him and started talking about the wedding! That was too cute!
Now with George and Izzie, I have mixed emotions. I like George and Callie, like - not love. But, i think Izzie and George have potential. Right now, I just want them to be friends again. But last night - when they were in the linen closet, all i wanted them to do was kiss eachother! Is that wrong?
(I am mad though that there were no scenes for next week!)
