More Guest Stars Lined Up For Spring Grey's Anatomy Spin-off Episode
Sources confirm that Alias' Merrin Dungey and Judging Amy's Amy Brenneman (pictured) have joined the cast of the Grey's Anatomy spin-off (or the potential spin-off, as it's being called, beginning with a special two-hour episode of Grey's scheduled for this spring).
Based on recent reports from Michael Ausiello of TV Guide, Dungey may be playing a psychiatrist, and Brenneman a fertility specialist or the other way around. It's all speculation at this point, but nonetheless fun to consider.
The hiring of this duo puts to rest speculation that Kate Walsh would find herself surrounded by a mostly-male ensemble - buzz that only intensified with the recent casting of stars Tim Daly and Taye Diggs.
We've also confirmed that Paul Adelstein (Prison Break) and Chris Lowell (Veronica Mars) have been added to the cast.
With Shonda Rhimes at the controls and a cast loaded with experienced, successful actors, it seems to us this thing has a pretty good chance of being picked up as a full series. What do you think?

I'm loving this new show already!! :)
I think that Amy Brenneman would be a good choice to play Addison's sister...if she has one. They look like they could be sisters in real life!

I'm still not too thrilled about Addison leaving the regular cast. Sigh. But we'll see how it goes.

Oh bummer. That doesn't strike me as a fun cast addition.

Me either. I think it might ruin the whole reality affect with signing on stars that we know already have been on other shows...the best thing about ga is that the cast had not been in the lime light before they were on ga.....these other people have been...i dont know....just sounds like a flop to me....

I'm not too crazy for this spinoff...I feel like it will ruin the present Grey's, whether it's bad or good...plus I don't like the idea of Shonda splitting her creativity waves into two, in order to pour into both shows....I need one outstanding show, not two so-so shows....two Grey's running at the same time? And I don't care if the cast is experienced or not; just because they are famous/were on other shows doesn't necessarily mean they would click with the audience/characters themselves...look at Grey's. I know this sounds awful of me, but as a very devoted Greys fan, I'm actually hoping the spinoff won't come through...

is addison such a complex/huge character that she needs her own show? god, this sounds like a gold digging conspiracy. if she does have an interesting life, i think it can fit into the current greys, thxs very much. i do not like this spinoff idea. i also agree with the above comment and do not like the idea of shonda splitting all of her talent and cleverness and wit into two. it will take tremendous effort for grey's to hold up to its very high standards, without another freaking show.
seriously? seriously, you ask me? seriously, no.

I'm with Nicole. Although I think Kate Walsh is a great actress and deserving of good things, IMHO - good things are at GA, not at a spinoff. I'd really like the ensemble cast to stay ensemble!
I keep hearing that the success or failure of the spinoff will be judged by how many people watch...duh, do they really think we WON'T watch a new GA episode (or two)? I really hope that ABC & Touchstone will hear the buzz and make the RIGHT decision....

i'm with nicole, too. we have one spotlight; meredith. we don't need another one. i don't really want the spin-off to go, either... sorry... but it's the truth. it's just not a great idea to have 2 shows that are connected and focus on ALL the situations. it's too much for me. i mean, look what happened to 'Friends' and 'Joey.' Friends was a GREAT show, and when Joey came out, it was just like, 'ugh, i like friends so much better.'
