Grey Chatter: The Tangled, Complicated Webs We Weave
Holy crap, it's George and Mere... no. It's George and Oliv... No. Wait, it's George and Call... oh, nope, wrong again.
It's actually George and Izzie.
He certainly gets around for such a soft-spoken, insecure guy. But it is wrong to judge, after all, though cheating on your wife does fall outside the judge-not boundaries.
George and Callie had a fight. A fight. It's what married people do.
Never mind that Callie's own insecurities seem to creep into every corner of their relationship, or that George spilled the beans on Callie's heiress status or that he somehow always manages to say the wrong things.
None of these things give him the right to cheat on his wife.
Add to that the fact that he cheated on her with Izzie and the situation manages to get even worse. Callie and Izzie obviously already had issues with each other. Callie's issues stem from her jealousy of Izzie's looks and relationship with George. Izzie's apparently come from these pent up feelings she has been harboring for George.
But everyone has flaws, and everyone makes mistakes.
Take Cristina, for example. In an effort to save Burke from rival jealousy over past relationships, she sort of leaves out one of the most important relationships she's had: a three-year tryst with Burke's own idol and the possible new chief of surgery, Dr. Colin Marlow.
This opens Burke's eyes to something he should have seen from the start - Cristina digs authority figures. But if her admiration of Burke's medical abilities is the only thing keeping Cristina in the relationship, Burke doesn't want a part of it.
Now Cristina has an out. She can either fight for Preston and attempt to overcome this new hurdle in their rocky road toward marital bliss, or she can just let him go the same way she let past relationships fizzle out.
People are complicated. This is what makes them endearing and "important," as Meredith points out on multiple occasions. Her renewed take on life and love and friendship is refreshing and long-awaited.
Her father, Thatcher, and his wife have reached out to Meredith and she's finally reaching back, albeit timidly.
Alex is finally moving into the house with Izzie and Meredith, leaving his previous housing situation a mystery. But a lot about Alex is mysterious, which is part of what makes him so interesting. His growing attachment to Jane Doe is reminiscent of another intern's affection for her patient.
Yet no one can really blame him. He risked his own life to rescue this woman, and now she has no one else in the world except him.
Many things are now hanging in the balance at Seattle Grace, all awaiting decisions - the chief of surgery position, George and Callie's marriage, Burke and Cristina's relationship - but eventually, decisions will be made and consequences will be carried out, for good or bad.

I don't think Izzie's sleeping with George stems from pent up feelings. Even with all her jealousy toward Callie, I really just felt that she wanted her best friend back. Maybe I will be proved wrong in the next episode, but I'm thinking it was just a drunk fling-thing.

I agree with Celestia. Izzie hasnt had feelings for george. If she did she would have gone after him long ago. George is timid and wouldnt go for her even if he is interested. Izzie on the other hand would. She misses her best firend. Shes also lonely she lost denny, and then lost george. but again its just a drunk mistake, which will play out very interestingly over the next few episodes!!!

I think that George has always had feelings for Izzie but maybe was too scared to even think about acting on them. It's interesting in the scene where him and Izzie are sitting on the floor that he admits Callie's concerns about Izzie's feelings and then he adds, "and she thinks that I want you." Callie NEVER said that so maybe he was admitting out loud how he's always felt.

I had always wondered, in a tiny corner of my tiny mind, if George and Izzie would ever hook up. From the beginning it seemed like one of those couples you look at and say, "Yeah, that would work." It's probably just because they're best friends, but they seemed like they would click. Yet, now that it's actually happened, I don't know how well it will turn out, and it's more likely that it was just a drunk fling rather than an actual expression of "pent up feelings."

I, for one, am glad that Izzie and George hooked up. I've never really liked Callie and I've never really liked their relationship because I've always felt like it's very forced. I feel like George has feelings for Callie because he thinks he should.
I also don't think, however, that Izzie and George will become anything. I think this is going to end up just being a one night, drunk fling. It will make their friendship a little awkward at first, but I think it will all blow over as soon as George leaves Callie. I do wonder if George does leave Callie if she will stay on the show. Her only interesting storylines evolve around George and I can't really see her staying at Seattle Grace if her and George get divorced. Maybe she'll leave with Addison? That would be kind of interesting. Can't wait to see upcoming episodes to find out!

No...No....No!!! No George and Izzie! It is too weird and it just does not feel right. As much as I would love for George and Callie to be together, I like Callie too much to watch her get her heart stomped on by Bambi! Callie is a strong woman, but men are her weakness (I can relate). She needs a man that is going to love as hard as she does and is going to ride shot gun with her when she needs him to. I really do not think George is that guy. Callie would do well on the spin-off with Addison (hint...hint).

i think george and callie's argument has been building up for sometime. he is majorly ticked about all the secrets she's kept--not the least of which her family is loaded. also, remember she kept it a secret that she lived in the basement of the hospital and that he found out about mcsteamy from alex which was also extremely hurtful. she went into the relationship with a huge crush on him and he never really caught up with that emotionally and she never lets him forget it. she never gave him the chance to fall in love with her. i think deep down she knows that they shouldn't have married so quickly and that she took advantage of his loneliness and vulnerability after his dad died. callie also is and always has been completely jealous of the friendships george has, probably because she has no friends. so now all this animosity is surfacing from both sides. i really think they were doomed, even if george never slept with izzie. don't get me wrong, i don't agree w/the george/izzie pairing, i'd rather have her with alex to be honest, but i don't really think george and callie ever belonged together.

I tend to agree with Luvsthisshow on the George / Callie analysis...I think the fight has been brewing...but I'm not sure about whether G & C "should" or "shouldn't" be together.
I really think the George / Izzie thing is pure Knob Creek. Best friends let their guard down with each other, the liquor makes it easier, the fight with Callie (for George) and Izzie's loss (still fresh for her) being incredible stresses....one thing leads to another -- but I don't think they did the McNasty - I think they passed out. Anybody wanna bet? lol

NOOO - George and Izzie are so awkward together. From the beginning he always had a crush on Meredith (and that was really well done) and was never interested in Izzie - she was always the big sister best friend confidante who just gave advice to him, and they protected each other, and they shared gossip - nothing more!
* Fingers crossed they really DIDN'T do the McNasty! And, about 'Izzie's big secret' in the next episode I hope she doesn't get pregnant...! AAARRRGGHH!

I think Shonda's setting up season finale, and I'm guessing Callie AND Izzy will turn up pregnant by George. That would be a good season ending for those three.

the promo for Grey's just aired and they definately say that IZZY and George had SEX. Heard it with my own ears.

Seems like betrayal to me. George is Izzy's fall-back, default, help-me-not-be-lonely guy. George has always wanted Izzy, but never thought he could have her. See at different take on Grey's anatomy and God at www.godthoughts.net

I will be so upset if George and Izzie have actually slept together and continue to be together. I dont like it. I like Callie and for him to cheat on her, makes me not like George as much as I did...drunk or not..he's an a**. Izzie doesnt impress me either...I didnt like the ending of the last episode and from what Ive read on other Spoiler sites, george and Izzie fall in love. Im not liking the show too much right now. Izzie and George together is not a good idea. They make nice friends...thats it, and lets keep it that way

i agree with Mandy. I was also thinking along the lines of LA. What if both izzie and callie are pregnant?
That would be..wierd...and exciting to see how it turns out.

Have any of you ever heard that you can't build a good relationship without being friends first? I've always hoped that something would spark up between George and Izzie... Don't get me wrong, I love love love Callie.. but George and Izzie just fit. And even if it doesn't work out, a friendship like that can make it. Let's just watch and see how it unfolds... it could definitely make for some interesting television! And... I'm sure I'll dig the spin-off... but it'll be sad to see Addison go. All in all, just thankful there's a show like Grey's on tv! Thanks to Shonda, the cast, and everyone else involved... long live Grey's Anatomy. :-)

I never thought of an Izzie and George hook up. But things like that happen in real life, so why not tv. I'm just wondering if George can handle it. He is not a good liar and if he tells callie, this will kill her. She deserves better. I hoping Izzie and her BIG mouth will keep quite, but who knows. Like I said these things happen in real life. Depending on the involved persons. It could become the Good, the Bad or Ugly. Personally I think they should keep their mouths shut and just move on. But then that's just me.
