Does anyone else think that the behavior of Kathryn Heigl and Ellen Pompeo is that of spoiled divas who are a bit ahead of the right to be divas??? And does anyone think that "Izzi" in her current state could leave and not be missed??? She has become hateful and mean-spirited and I HATE the way she treats Callie! What's up with these women??

Since spinoffs usually suck, I have mixed feelings about the new show. I think that it may be able to work if she goes off with Sloan back to NY or wherever they're from. We will see I guess!
BUT, all this talk about K. Heigl being upset that she doesn't get her own show and, well, everyone being upset about it, I just don't really understand the problem. If anyone else were to leave and get their own show, Grey's just wouldn't be the same because the show is about all of them. The only exception really IS Addison and Mark because they are just temporary people. Addison came to the show to get Derek, she didn't get him, now she can leave. Mark came to get Addison, so let him take her and they can do their own thing. Seriously, for the overall show, they're the only two characters that can leave and not ruin the show.

I actually just read on spoilerfix.com that should the Grey's 2.0 flop, Walsh has a clause in her contract that guarantees her a return trip to Seattle Grace.
So rest easy kate/addison fans.

That is why they are having the 2hr. spin off in May just to see how it is going to go. Which is good because it will give them an idea before they start taping again for season 4.
Cindy Says:

For those who are misunderstanding, the 2 hour episode will be just another Grey's Anatomy episode except it may be a bit more focused on Addison. I heard from a couple other sites that by the end, basically, addison will be offered another job somewhere, and left as a season cliffhanger.
If the background people ABC, w/e, decide to go forward with the spinoff, then Addison will take the offer. If they don't, they Addison will decline, and peace will return to Seattle Grace.
The good news (for KW, for me, for lots of ppl), is that in the event that the spin-off fails, Kate Walsh's contract allows her to return to Grey's. Whew!

I think the writer should concentrate on a full season of shows and keep the reruns for summer. If she can't deal a full deck on one show what will she do with two?
If any other network comes up with anything even remotely interesting, I'll switch over. It was a great show but it's on the downhill slide with it's lousy story lines and cast quarrels and problems and constant reruns. Phooey!
spin-offs generally do not do well. i really hope they abandon this plan and keep kate walsh in the show. splitting the cast might just make one of the shows suffer. they should just focus on writing great scripts and keeping grey's anatomy the best show on tv.
grey's anatomy is an ensemble show. they may focus a little bit more on the mer-der dynamic but all the characters contribute to it's success. otherwise, they would have done a show about only derek and meredith. it will definitely be a big loss if addison or any of the interns and doctors leave.

Spin off shows like never ever work i mean the joey spin off from friends was hugely publisised and awaited but it still flopped, although granted some have worked its very hit and hope. Maybe concentrating on the main show for a couple more seasons would have been better but im not a producer so i wish them luck.
Also the returning ex im pretty sure is callies because in an earlier episode meredith admitted to derek she had never done this before so it cant be her. and i read somewhere callie has a secret to admit to so maybe its the ex?

I just found this comment on spoiler fix and this makes me feel better about Mer/Der! YEAH!
GREY'S ANATOMY spin off poll: Most people say it's a bad idea. I don't know where I stand. I want Addison to stay at Seattle Grace but if the spin off is half as good as the real thing, wouldn't it be great to have ABC turn Thursday night the GA night?

As I understand it, the two hour season finale will be a normal GA finale, but it will open up a door for Addison to leave if it looks like the viewers approve of said opened door. The writer is a genius, look how ravenously we all hang on for each new episode, if addison leaves I'm sure it will be artfully done, not out of nowhere and dissapointing.
As far as the old lover showing up and screwing up life for Mer/Der, I think he's used to and accepts the fact that she has had many many partners in her past, and an old lover showing up and announcing himself won't really faze him.

Yeah, I just saw the "2 hour event" and it completely sucked. I didn't know that they were going to try to run a spin off before tonight, but after seeing it, it was obvious that they were testing the waters for an Addison's Anatomy..
The episode gave Addison, Taye Diggs and The Lady From Judging Amy more air time than the main characters of the show. And each new character was as boring as dirt. I wasn't even sure what the heck I was watching half the time! It was boring, uninteresting drivel. Bleh spinoffs!
My suggestion: save the spinoff's money and efforts into making Grey's more fresh and less predictable, like back in season 1.

I really hope they don't do a spin off. I too tuned into the spin off episode and was truly disappointed. What i really want to happen is derek and meredith to break up that would be so great. I wish she would have drowned and gotten rid of her come on now how realistic is it for someone to have no pulse for what seems like days and not even have a little brain damage. just not realistic at all.

I think that I would love to see all the new (yet old faces) characters. They are all familar faces and I love the make up of all of them together I think it would be a great add to the Grey's anatomy Saga a spin off with plenty of open opportunities for guest apperences on both ends. I think that greys needs new charaters to spice things up a bit I must admitt as much as I love mc dreamy and Merideth together the story line is dull and almost wish them to move on now!
