Although the plot is still shrouded in Shonda Rhimes-style secrecy, both TV Guide and Variety magazine have discovered some new dirt on the planned Grey's Anatomy spin-off, and how it may begin.
Variety says that "My Favorite Mistake," a two-hour Grey's Anatomy episode setting up an Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) spin-off, is scheduled to air this spring.
In addition to opening the door for Addison to possibly leave the halls of Seattle Grace, "My Favorite Mistake" will also introduce guest star Taye Diggs - as well as Hector Elizondo (Chicago Hope) as Callie's father.
The episode will be directed by Michael Grossman, who was last behind the camera for "Great Expectations" - the terrific episode in which both Burke and George popped the question to their respective ladies.
An exact air date for "My Favorite Mistake" has not been announced by ABC, but the episode will serve as the 22nd and 23rd Grey's Anatomy episodes (out of 24) in the current Season 3.
This is all very interesting news. Is the door also open for Addison to remain at Seattle Grace if viewer response to the episode is negative? Or is it a done deal that she's gone? Previous reports suggest the latter, but this makes it sound slightly less certain.
In any event, Grey's Anatomy returns with new episodes in two weeks, Thursday, March 15. That episode will be titled "Scars and Souvenirs."

Wait, I don't understand? So this show is going to take place of Grey's episodes 22 and 23, meaning that Grey's won't be on and instead this will?!?!
Ew. What are they thinking? Spin-offs suck! And why would they play the spin-off episodes as part of the season ending episodes for Grey's?!!

Oh wait, I think I understand now. "My Favorite Mistake" is the name of the episode, I misunderstood, I thought that was the name of Kate Walsh's new show.
I really just hope it fails so that Kate Walsh can stay at SGH!!

What that means is they're laying the ground work for a possible spin-off...maybe. Quite honestly while I think that Addison would be fabulous on her own show I'd really hate to see her leave Grey's. She's really an integral part of the show we all know and love.
My theory is don't fix it if it ain't broken!!

Grey's Anatomy isnt over! Addison is just leaving SGH and making her own show, so we will have two good shows to watch!:)

I have been reading alot of the GA spoilers for upcoming episodes. I;m really concerned about Mer/Der. I know from the podacast that Shonda and Betsy implied that Mer/Der still have some things to ironout and thats understandable for what has happened to Mer the last three episodes, but I'm just hoping they will be able to work through these things and FINALLY BE HAPPY! I've read where one fo the spoilers are listing alot of things that could possibly happen before season end andonly one thing will happen. THe one that concerns me is that Mer and Der hit a roadblock and one of her ex's appear @ her door. *Which doesn't mean that will happen though) and another spoler says that a females ex will appear and cause a ripple effect in their current realtionship. SURELY they aren't talking aobut BREAKING UP MER and DER after ALL they have been through! COME ON!!!! I'm really hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that thiings work out for them and a proposal is in the making!!!!Please SHonda..let this couple be HAPPY!!!!
