Wow! What a crazy episode! So my take is that either they're tricking us by killing Meredith and bringing her back to life, and thats the "supposed" death or they're killing her mom Ellis. There's no way 100% they will actually kill Meredith! Everyone wants to see her and McDreamy be happy together, maybe they just needed this for a little jolt since they've been fighting lately! I will honestly stop watching(as I'm sure many would, aka the fate of the "OC") if they kill Meredith.

Ok, so two people are going to die, but only one is going to "stick". I don't think Meredith is going to die permanently....she is hypothermic and in that state patients have been revived after relatively long periods of cardiac arrest. So she will be sort of dead, but not really, truely most sincerly dead.
She may be in that "gray" area (pardon the pun) between life and death. She has already seen Denny and the bomb squad guy. Maybe the 2nd death, the one that "sticks" will be the next person she sees. Perhaps her mother? Perhaps her mother will be dead but coherent in the afterlife, and she will persuade M to "go back" and have a successful life.

clearly i have no idea what is going to happen, but i feel i need to comment because of all the viewers saying they will quit watching if meredith dies. i definitely agree, but i feel the same way in regards to dr. preston burke. i don't care what isaih washington said to t.r. knight, he has one of the most intruiging characters and the show would not be the same without him. if they kill him off or boot him because of his personal opinions i will never watch again. to be real about it, everyone has opinions that are taboo to society or "political correctness", maybe they aren't brave enough to voice them, but they still have them, so who cares? people should get over it... he's a great actor with a great character and it would be a real shame to see him cut from the show because someone too sensitive got their feelings hurt. i'd rather see george pulled from the show than preston. like i said, everyone has opinions that some other whiner would find a reason to cry about. get over it.

i would also like to add that my best friend is a gay male and has a totally different opinion on this than i do. i just think personal beliefs shouldn't affect your job, just the same as ethnicity, gender, and all the rest... isiaih washington does a terrific and admirable job portraying preston burke and that should not be taken away from him because of his personal beliefs...

okay cliff hangers are all all fun and games but if sr kills of the one that all of the peeps revolve around then your fan base jumps ship in a mass revolt....what is up with burke treating cristina so poorly in ep 1 and izzie ub eo II....her monologue stepped waaaaaay over the boundries with george....her pain is so transparent to us only-not george...in his current state of mind he will never see how much she truly misses and love him....sr, please do not do it....

All I know is that Meredith dying has hit me like a ton of bricks and I cried in disbelief. Reading this blog makes me hopeful that they will resuscitate her. Maybe they will make altered state stories while she is ...out of body??? Meredith come back!

Ok, I really don't think Meredith will die. If they kill her the show dies. I agree with a comment stated earlier. If they kill her it will have the same fate that The OC had when they killed Mischa Barton's character off. Now it's in its final episodes. I mean come on people it's called GREY's Anatomy what fun would it be if she died? Who will narrate with all those great quotes? The show would clearly not have the same momentum and feeling. The show will be empty. If Meredith dies I will stop watching.

or has much to live for, so she wills to live and
suddenly, the flat line on her monitor jumps to
life!
Later, when Meredith has a chance to regain
her composure, she will confide in Issy that Denny

As to who will Croak, its Mededith's mother;
she's overdue to leave and who needs her.

Can't die she's not just going to walk off in the sunset with Denny and bomb squad guy. I think Mer's Mother heart is going to KO and Preston to the rescue. Ala, that is why Christinna is in the OR with Mer... telling them "Try Again". I don't believe I saw Preston in the previews for next week. He must be with Merradith's mother. I do believe Mer and her mother will see each other one last time. This would be Ellis' last chance at redemption for being "disappointed" in Merradith. And bringing back a message from Denny also a plus,and what if the bomb squad guy needs someone ie... Merridith to go back to confort his daughter if my assumption is right...... you know what they say about assume.

Reading these are so helpful! I really hope that the writers realize how devestating it would be if they kill meredith off...they can't do that, right? I mean, it's her show!! I think she'll pull through, then Derrick will propose!! i think if anyone dies it would be eithe Ellis or Meredith(weird family thing) i think Ellis will appear in "Hospital Heaven" and tell meredith shes proud of her and she needs to go back, because the carousel never stops turning.(reference from a previous episode)unfortunately the talk about next thursday is so small we can only put up what we think wil happen. So until then i will sit back cry some more...watch the episode over ten more times and wait, wait with a puzzled theory.

Call me crazy, but I don't think the show will bomb if Meredith dies. It may even be better. I doubt it will decrease the number of viewers who watch the show. After all, everyone will tune in to see how the cast reacts to her death.
That said, I don't think Meredith will actually die. I'll be fine if she does, though.

I don't think they can kill off Meridith. If they do, yes it will be another O.C. fiasco...i quit watching that show... But a bunch of the girls here at school and I discussed it and remember at the beginning of last week's episode when Mer's in the bathtub and she's talking about miracles...miracles that medicine can't even explain. That would tie it to them reviving her! If she dies there is no more love triangle. They can't kill her! So I'm going with Mer's mom...understandably I really don't want anyone to die, but she makes the most sense. If they don't kill her...the plot is thrown off completely! Let's hope Thursday comes fast!
