Hi Belgian Grey. Did you read this somewhere or are these your words? I haven't read that and wonder if I have missed something. I hope he doesn't suffer a major blow. As much as the Meredith fans have been losing sleep over the drowning the past two weeks, I have been losing sleep over what will happen to my favorite character, Burke, ever since October when the controversy broke. Every week that he is on the show I breathe a sigh of relief and then start to worry again about the next week. Television just shouldn't be so stressful. I don't want him to die and I don't want he and Cristina to break up. Anything else I can handle.

Ok, let me first say, Hats off to you Shonda. Nice writing. I must say I haven't stopped thinking about what's going to happen to Meredith all weekend. I can't wait for next week. I need to know NOW!
But I have to say, If you really kill off Meredith I truly do believe you will have no more viewers. You can't kill off the main character and get away with it. Even if she's still in the show, but not alive...it wont work.
But hey good to see Denny! I missed him a lot. And Dylan, awesome.
Now here's what I'm hoping is going to happen everyone...
Meredith will be revived, Derek will propose and she will say yes and everyone will be all happy and crap. When Meredith wakes up she will have a message for Izzy from Denny saying how much he loves her and misses her and he's always with her...blah blah blah...Meredith and Cristina will be eachothers maid of honor for thier weddings to Derek and Preston, Addison and Alex will get together, and Mark and Derek will become friends again...
I know, wishful thinking.

Do you know what you're doing to people's heads here, I just talked to my friend, we have weekly conversation about the show. (she lives far away from me) and we NEED to know what is going to happen to Meredith, and also, what will become of Derek if she dies.
Don't do this to him Shonda.

I can't hardly wait until Thursday. At least we do get (2) episodes back to back this week. Excited to watch last weeks over again along with the new episode! Actually, I have already watched last weeks 3-4 times already since I have TIVO and I'm sure I'll watch it again before Thursday! (ha)
I loved last weeks episode for so many reasons. All the characters seem to have alot of screen time in this episode but naturally my favorites are Mer/Der. I love Patrick Dempsey and in this episode he broke my heart!! He was so pittiful! I wanted to hug him so bad! (ha) His facial expressions have always shown his feelings without ever having to say anything and it definately was so apparent in this epsiode the love he has for Meredith! He looked like he was falling apart! I do think Mer will be revived and I think her Mom will be the one to die. I think she will see this as a new beginning. I think that Mer/Der will realize that they love each other more now than ever! I think the other marriage proposal will be theirs! I do think he was her Knight and Shinning Whatever because he saved her from drowning even though they would not let him stay in the room with them to revive her. The acting between Ellen and Patrick is phoenominal and these last few episodes have shown that. The chemistry is so real between them and thats what makes their love so believable on screen. I really hope that Der and Mer get married! I guess we'll see what Shonda has in store for us! Again, great acting from Patrick Dempsey, I think you deserve an EMMY!

I just had a revelation guys! I was reading somewhere, that yes someone died this week, someone will die next week also, but only one of those deaths will stick. And I don't think that one will be Meredith.
What if, because of the stress of trying to save Meredith, the Cheif has a heart attack and maybe he's the one that dies, or Ellis dies. One of 'em will die and Mer will be fine...
I hope.

Any way to find out for how long Pickens signed the contract with GA? I know that Kate Burton is very buzzy and probably does not have time free to dedicate long hours to GA anymore. I can't take the waiting anymore. On a french forum they analyzed every picture of the promos this gives you an idea on what an impact this show has. Also I can't understand why nobody knows how long the break will last some say 2 months this does not seem reasonable. Can anyone explain to me why there are breaks (except for the holiday season of course that I understand) we don't have that in Europe except for the summer time. Thanks

Okay, first of all, I did not hear anywhere that there was going to be a break! Why would there be another break?! I was so excited that it's been all new episodes since it came back in January. Why does it seem like last season there were so many more episodes then this season?! Anyone know how long this one is going to be? Hopefully just a week!
Secondly, I agree with all you people that have commented that Meredith will be revived and there will be some kind of connection between her and Ellis and then Ellis will eventually die. That seems the most logical. You don't kill off the title character of the best television drama in the U.S. mid-season. You just don't. Similar to the O.C, Marissa died and the show died with her. And she wasn't even the TITLE character.
I also think that Cristina will be the one to save Meredith. There's such a strong bond between the two of them and it's easy to see even if the writers don't obviously show it.
I was also heartbroken to see Derek in this episode. I swear he's the only man in the world that can convey every emotion he's feeling just through his eyes! I wish someone would look at me the way he looks at Meredith! I think Meredith will come through, if not for herself, for Derek.
I also don't think that Burke will die. Meredith's near-death experience is already putting too much stress on Cristina, they couldn't possibly then kill of her fiance! It's just not right! Meredith will pull through and Burke will be just fine.
As for Izzie's speech, I thought that it was typical Izzie and I enjoyed it. We already know from last season how she's inappropriate at the wrong times and this just further proved it. It's just how she is and you have to respect her for it.

Thanks Belgian Grey. Now I am worried all over again. Of course the blow to Burke could be that someone else is named Chief or that his heart patient, Ellis Grey, dies. I really hope that is the connection. I have never for a minute thought that Meredith would die, but I am always scared to death that ABC/Touchstone will give in to the people calling for Isaiah's head and that we will lose Burke. I know rationally everyone who has said that the death won't be Burke's is right. But until I see him live through it I'm going to worry. I also don't want Cristina to break up with him. I have invested over two years in their relationship and that would be just too sad. They are so good together. They are both so unconventional, I can't imagine either one of them with anyone else. I don't like that there were reshoots for this coming episode. I don't like that the spoilers say that originally there wasn't going to be a death this coming week and now there is. Reshoots could mean it was shot after the Golden Globes so who knows. I am honestly getting an ulcer over this show. I want to believe that they have settled their differences and that Isaiah will stay on the show, but I don't like that Shonda doesn't mention his character at all iln her podcast or on her blog. She almost never does any more. Breaks my heart. I need her to be rooting for Burke and Cristina.

Oh boy, that is a MAJOR SPOILER in the site Belgian Grey gives the link for. I almost wished I didn't read it, but it makes alot of sense as far as Meredith. It really worries me what it says about Burke. I am going to try to stay away from spoilers after the next episode...maybe.

Burke Backer--I am going out of my mind with these technical problems on this site. After one of the most intense, possibly pivotal, GA episodes yet, none of the regulars are here or on the forums. None! There are a few newbies on Bang but I mostly have been talking to myself. Please get this fixed tomorrow people---I need my friends back!!!

BB--I feel so bad for you to have to go through this stress over IW. I personally will jump for joy if Burke-Cristina just make it through the end of Season 3 intact. Even a wedding doesn't seem as important anymore as just keeping them together and on the show. I am rooting for him and for you.

I have doubt concerning this spoiler.Why would Meredith require organ donation?She needs to be rewarmed and it can be done.Maybe Elis dies and meets her while she is chating with Denny and Dylan.They will have a reunion and she will come back.Thus Elis saves her.It does look like something that would happen in six feet under but I will not be surprised if they go that route.
Burketina's fight seems so "forced".It was as if the writers wanted them to fight for the sake of fighting.
I would not be surprised if they broke up.They may have initially planned to have these 2 married at the end of the season but after the whole CG fiasco, things may have changed.
It is sad because, many viewers, myself inculded do not really care about the backstage drama.
Anyway, maybe we should all just like Izzie believe in the good, that Burke and Cristina will make it.

Zee, I so agree. The relationship between Burke and Cristina, and Cristina and Mer are on different levels. Mer is Cristina's best friend/sister. When she's annoyed at Burke or they have a disagreement, Mer is the person she goes to for advice or as a listening board, and Burke is the love of her life, the person that comforts her, and shows her how to love. There are things you can talk to you best friend about that you don't feel you can talk to you boyfriend or spouse about.
Also, Ellis will be the one that dies. (The ratings are great, they're not letting any of the main characters go). In addition to seeing Denny and the other guy (can't remember his name), I think she's going to see her mother, too. And, hopefully when Mer is better, she'll have a chance to make peace with her mother before she goes, otherwise we may end up watching a depressed Mer. The question in my mind is why didn't she just swim to safety; does she not know how to swim, or was she giving up?
I have faith in Shonda (although she should say a few words about Burke and Cristina, at least for their fans) that she will not let Burke and Cristina take backward steps. I don't think she would have wasted time with Burke proposing, and Cristina accepting. If she was going to take backward steps, Cristina wouldn't have accepted Burke's proposal. And, I'm waiting for some nice warm B/C moments, at least some cuddling. We're long overdue.

The spoiler is bullshit, anyone can edit those things to write whatever they want. All you have to do is register and I'm pretty sure you can edit it to say whatever. An organ donation wouldn't make any sense in Meredith's case. Hypothermia makes your whole body slow down and basically preserve itself, you wouldn't need new organs! That doesn't make any sense.

I really hope you are right, MJ. On BangsAnatomy there is a thread about why we love Burke. I've been thinking about this alot. Why do I love Preston Burke so much? Why would it be devastating to me if this character were no longer on GA? So, I started thinking about it and this iis what I know.
I first got interested in him because he was so skilled and competent as a surgeon. I loved the way he walked and talked and backed up the talk with action. I admired him because he was the best surgeon at Seattle Grace with the record for the lowest mortality rate. I started to really like him when I realized that he also cared about his patients. Each time he talked to a patient or the patient's family you could tell that when he operated that it was a person to him and that it mattered if they lived.
Infatuation started when he was honest about his own mistakes and shortcomings like when he confessed to having left the towel in the woman's chest cavity and stood up for Meredith when she nicked the heart with her finger nail, and when he asked Bailey if he was too confident he took her answer to heart and tried to change.
I loved that he saw the good in Cristina right from the beginning. He saw her softer side with Nurse Fallon clear back in episode four of season one when no one else did. When he told her in the locker room, "I know you", he did. He saw through her guarded personna to someone afraid to trust in love so he set out to prove she could trust him. Time and tiime again he made her face her commitment issues by keeping their relationship moving forward.
I felt a strong physical pull towards him when he brought the coffee for Cristina and then became her lover. It is hard not to have a strong physical reaction to Isaiah with his shirt off. But I think I fell in love with Burke when it became obvious that it was more than sex for him. That he wanted to have a relationship with Cristina. He was no longer just a typical hot man, then. He was a sensitive, romantic, hot man. The fact that he is monogamous is a huge turn on for me. I love that there is no one else but Cristina. I love that there is no one else for either one of them.
That love grew kind of into obsession with every loving thing he did. Comforting her, trying to understand her, getting hurt by her, forgiving her, through it all loving her. Being a friend to George when he needed one. Being a friend to Derek now when he needs one. Caring about the Chief's opiinon of him. Caring about Bailey's opinion of him. Being a gentleman to Izzie and Meredith because they are important to Cristina. Being rude to Sloan because he hurt Derek. I love his loyalty. His willingness to be vulnerable by giving his heart to Cristina even knowing she would have a hard time returning his love. In fact, it is that blend of vulnerable and confident that make him so likeable to me.
He is just simply my perfect guy. I will try to be an "I believer", but it is getting increasingly hard. I don't want the character of Burke to leave the show because it would ruin it for me and the other thousand or so people on BangsAnatomy and those fans who have found this one website that focuses on them. I also don't want his character to break up with Cristina because they have been the one constant relationship from the beginning and they are really good together. I can't imagine either one of them with anyone else. I'm not looking forward to Thursday. I am looking foward to getting past it without losing any of the original cast.

BB, I agree. I became addicted to the show (seriously) because of Burke and Cristina, and I don't watch primetime television. My boss even knows not to ask me to stay late on Thurs.
I was just watching the "I am Preston Burke" episode and kept watching the scene when he tells Cristina he loves her. I think the reason he tells Cristina that he knows her is because she is so much like him: ambitious, career focused, stubborn, controlling, etc. They've changed each other, and he is so in love with her, and she with him. It just took Cristina longer to stop fighting it because she didn't want that kind of attachment. They have come a long way since Season 1. Cristina was definitely the one controlling the relationship then, and Burke took over in Season 2. Now they have to learn to compromise. Even when they get married, they'll still have disagreements, but as long as it resolved at the end, I would be okay with it.
Even though Shonda doesn't talk much about our couple, I think she knows how important they are to the show. IW and SO are very talented actors and they have so much chemistry. I am so looking forward to more of that chemistry being shown. I really miss that. I can hardly wait for Thurs.
