Back several episodes ago when the interns were being snarky to Cristina and Meredith told them to give her a break. Cristina told her to quit defending her and Meredith said that she had to because Cristina was her only family or all she had or something to that effect. I remember Meredith and Derek fans being miffed that she didn't acknowledge Derek. They were not happy that Meredith felt that Cristina was all she had and wondered what that meant in terms of her relationship with Derek.
I think for the Burke-Cristina fans this is kind of similar. I understand that she has developed a bond with Meredith, like sisterhood. But it does not take the place of the love of your life and that is Burke. There is room in her life for both although having committed relationships like that are new to Cristina, I think. I don't see this as foreshadowing of them breaking up, but I do see it as another chink in Cristina's armor of aloofness. She does get emotionally involved. I think Burke's love for her has opened her up to getting involved.
I always worry about Burke when anyone is going to die on this show, but truthfully, I don't think if he were leaving the show that it would be kept quiet. The whole rehab thing and Izzie's comments last week would not have made sense. The spoilers are not saying that the second death will be a major character. I really still think it's Ellis for all of the reasons we have been talking about for days, even last week. I am more worried about how all of this with Meredith will effect Burke and Cristina's relationship. I hope she turns to him for strength and comfort like she did after she lost the baby or after Denny died. It could bring them closer. That's what I'm hoping any way.

Thinking, I know Cristina feels something is wrong. It seemed to me Derek was moving in slow motion in trying to track Meredith. ( A Ploy I am sure the writers set up). I'm telling you guys you are going to give me a heart attack. I will admit I love the suspense.
I'm happy for Izzie being able to hold her own and help the man she was working on. But, She did throw me off with her ramblings in the hallway while everyone was waiting to hear about Mer. I still don't know what George's marriage has to do with this situation .

Sorry, I hit the wrong key. this is my continuation.
I fell in Love with Derek all over again when he came out of the water carring his sweetie. The disstressed and tortured look on his made me cry. He looked like someone had just pulled his heart out of his chest. I can't bare to see him in agony. In the ambulancewhile working on Mer,during the time the paramedic said something to him . I could have sworn I heard him say " She is All I have". ( Did I mention I was crying?) He truly is her knight in shining whatever. He looked SOoo exhausted when they got to the hospital. When Dr Weber told him to leave now, he looked like a man thinking " My life is over if I loose her." I wasn't to impressed with the way Weber, addision and bailey were handling this medical situation. ( This is one of their own). It seemed to me they gave up to easily (or) early. I thought, Cristina needs to be there.
I'm glad when I saw the promo's, Cristina was not taking any prisoners and laying down the law as what they should be doing. I tell you That Cristina is awesome every week. I know she will get Mer back. Their friendship/sisterly bond is bigger than life. I Love it.!!! Again thanks Shonda, for giving me another SLEEPLESS WEEK. ( smile). Love Ya. Girl!!!!!

Although I'm sure she will be saved by some miracle, I wouldn't be disappointed to see Meredith die. She's gotten quite annoying this season beginning with the whole "Finn and Derek can fight over me" deal. The other characters can carry on the show without her ever-present whining, and her "as surgeons we..." narration. I'd personally love to see Izzie step in as the lead female character. Meredith just isn't cutting it anymore.
Zee Says:
February 18th, 2007 2:22 AM
I seriously don't think that the second death will involve Burke. Ellis Grey would be the most logical candidate for this. She's having a major heart surgery, which could cause her death. If it is Burke, it's going to be another story arc altogether. I mean, how can they kill of Burke in that very short span of time? He hasn't been ill and it can't be another gunshot, or something to that effect.
About Burke never going to be number one for Cristina - I definitely disagree with that. Cristina's relationship to both Burke and Meredith are completely different. Meredith is Cristina's best friend. Burke is the love of her life. Both of them mean a lot to Cristina, but on different levels. And Burke knows that. He is such an intelligent person and I know he'll understand Cristina sooner or later. This little thing wouldn't get into them because Burke will understand.
I know she did not play a very big role but what about the chiefs niece could she be the one that dies? Just a thought that crossed my minds.
As for those of you who misses sex scenes with Mer/Der and Burke/Cristina give me a break is that all that you care about? I like it better when it is all "subtle suggestive guessing" that's when it's really hot.

Belgian Grey, logically thinking, Burke is not going to be the one who dies at the end of next episode. They finished shooting the 3-episode story arc even before the Golden Globes. Isaiah Washington went to rehab after that great controversy, and two weeks later or so, there was news that he went back to the set and resumed shooting for the next episodes. Having said that, it is impossible for Burke to be killed off next episode. I'm betting that Ellis Grey would be the one to be killed off. It would be part of the Meredith coming back to life drama and all that jazz.

Hi Belgian Grey. Did you read this somewhere or are these your words? I haven't read that and wonder if I have missed something. I hope he doesn't suffer a major blow. As much as the Meredith fans have been losing sleep over the drowning the past two weeks, I have been losing sleep over what will happen to my favorite character, Burke, ever since October when the controversy broke. Every week that he is on the show I breathe a sigh of relief and then start to worry again about the next week. Television just shouldn't be so stressful. But I have to say, If you really kill off Meredith I truly do believe you will have no more viewers. You can't kill off the main character and get away with it. Even if she's still in the show, but not alive...it wont work.
But hey good to see Denny! I missed him a lot. And Dylan, awesome.
Now here's what I'm hoping is going to happen everyone...
Meredith will be revived, Derek will propose and she will say yes and everyone will be all happy and crap. I loved last weeks episode for so many reasons. All the characters seem to have alot of screen time in this episode but naturally my favorites are Mer/Der. I love Patrick Dempsey and in this episode he broke my heart!! He was so pittiful! I wanted to hug him so bad! (ha) His facial expressions have always shown his feelings without ever having to say anything and it definately was so apparent in this epsiode the love he has for Meredith! He looked like he was falling apart! I do think Mer will be revived and I think her Mom will be the one to die. I think she will see this as a new beginning. I think that Mer/Der will realize that they love each other more now than ever! I think the other marriage proposal will be theirs! I do think he was her Knight and Shinning Whatever because he saved her from drowning even though they would not let him stay in the room with them to revive her. The acting between Ellen and Patrick is phoenominal and these last few episodes have shown that. The chemistry is so real between them and thats what makes their love so believable on screen. I really hope that Der and Mer get married! I guess we'll see what Shonda has in store for us! Again, great acting from Patrick Dempsey, I think you deserve an EMMY!

Okay, first of all, I did not hear anywhere that there was going to be a break! Why would there be another break?! I was so excited that it's been all new episodes since it came back in January. Why does it seem like last season there were so many more episodes then this season?! Anyone know how long this one is going to be? Hopefully just a week!
Secondly, I agree with all you people that have commented that Meredith will be revived and there will be some kind of connection between her and Ellis and then Ellis will eventually die. That seems the most logical. You don't kill off the title character of the best television drama in the U.S. mid-season. You just don't. Similar to the O.C, Marissa died and the show died with her. And she wasn't even the TITLE character.
I also think that Cristina will be the one to save Meredith. There's such a strong bond between the two of them and it's easy to see even if the writers don't obviously show it.
I was also heartbroken to see Derek in this episode. I swear he's the only man in the world that can convey every emotion he's feeling just through his eyes! I wish someone would look at me the way he looks at Meredith! I think Meredith will come through, if not for herself, for Derek.
I also don't think that Burke will die. Meredith's near-death experience is already putting too much stress on Cristina, they couldn't possibly then kill of her fiance! It's just not right! Meredith will pull through and Burke will be just fine.
As for Izzie's speech, I thought that it was typical Izzie and I enjoyed it. We already know from last season how she's inappropriate at the wrong times and this just further proved it. It's just how she is and you have to respect her for it.
