from a purely logical standpoint, Grey's hasn't even gone through a whole year in tv time. Addison will have been there for six,seven, eight..? months and then she just jumps ship and moves somewhere else? No right minded professional would do that. Second, she is head of Obstetrics and has the top neo-nat unit in the country according to the show. What possible job would make her give that up... Shonda has some explaining to do

Addison brings depth to the show and she is funny...the chemistry between Alex and her is great...i don't really know what the big deal is about Derek & Meredith..They are annoying couple...I am so over them
This shows works not because of Meredith & McDreamy but the rest of the characters. George & Callie (yes a bit annoying)but they both get each other.Burke & Cristina have this wonderful, flawed, funny relationship..Izzie is crazy..she can't mind her own business when it comes to George but her heart in the right place...Alex is a good guy who really doesn't know how to be a good guy...Bailey..Bailey is THE QUEEN....Mark is a jerk but how much of a
jerk can he be when he leaves a great practice in NY for SGA so he can be with Addison. Chief is a great father figure.
Let leaves us with mer/Der..come on the only reason we like these 2 characters is because the are gorgeous..we need two gorgeous people to end up together...Derek spent all last season being an ass who loved watching two women fighting over him and slutty Meredith was being a pathetic woman who slept with anything that moved just because a man didn't want her .. now she has him the bitch still can't get it together.Please KILL her but we all know that is not happening

-this episode is called some kind of miracle (probably meredith surving)
-second death? maybe addison, who teams up with denny for the spin off, merediths afterlife WAS at a hospital just like SGH ???

Personally, I have come to adore Addie and think she adds much to Grey's as a main character. However, a spinoff doesn't mean she changes, just her surroundings and the people she'll play off of...we'll get to see her in a whole new way. And maybe get to know more about her history...plus she WON'T be as defined by male characters (Derek's ex-wife, Mark's ex-lover, Alex's maybe-soon-to-be-lover). Hopefully this works, but if it doesn't get picked up, Addie will more than likely remain at Grey's (spinoff does NOT equal death as some seem to think!).
anyway, GOOD LUCK to Kate Walsh and I hope everything turns out amazing (however it turns out)!! :-)

i think this is a smart move. addison's primary role was to go between mer and der. now that this issue has been resolved, there's not much for her on the show. but because we all still love her, a spin-off isn't a bad idea. keeping her in grey's will force shonda and the writers to come up with storylines that viewers will potentially find lame.

Okay... so mostly everyone agrees that we love Kate Walsh, and her character Addison. BUT... that's what ABC is banking on. They hope that all of us will jump and watch the other show to follow her character! The thing is... what we love about Addison is how she interacts with the rest of the ensemble cast. As many have said, without the rest of the ensemble, I'm not sure how ANY member of the GA cast would last. I really don't want her to leave... I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to see her stay as the new chief. I think it'd be great to see her superior to the "little-boyish attendings" (as someone called them). Plus, I'd love to see further development between the friendship between Addy and Callie. I loved the scenes between them so far. We are only talking about a pilot, so if it doesn't go well, I hope they keep her around.... if not, I just pray that Shonda knows what she's doing. I'm not gonna lie though, I've been a little disappointed at the predictability of this season. ESP. tonight's episode. I'm not saying it wasn't great... but I saw it coming a MILE away.
i am happy for kate walsh for getting her own show...a spin off you call it...but i love her in GA! she's great in GA, she adds spice to the show. to be honest i really like her scenes and i look forward to it in every episode, she has some of the great lines...i also like her friendship with callie, i think they make good pals...like meredith and christina! their friendship is only starting so why cut it? i believe that addie/kate has a lot to offer and contribute in making the show no.1 as it is at present...but in the end if ever the spin off pushes through i'm sure i will still watch it just because of kate walsh' name heading the cast! what can i do? i just love the girl...

1) According to news reports Addison will return to Grey's if the spinoff is not successful.
2) Will you all just give Shonda Rhimes a chance and watch it when it comes out. You all love GREYS because SHE writes it so well.
So let's please be positive and see what Ms Rhimes comes up with - we could LOVE it and Greys as well. A Double Dipper - oh yes!!

I actually just read on spoilerfix.com that should the Grey's 2.0 flop, Walsh has a clause in her contract that guarantees her a return trip to Seattle Grace.
