While I'd hate to see Addison leave GA, I think Kate Walsh is an outstanding actress and certainly a strong enough presence to carry a new show. If Shonda is involved, I think it can be a smashing success. A spinoff starring Addison... HELL YES!

Addison cannot leave! The fact that she can develop so much more in Grey's Anatomy is why she HAS TO STAY! But, i would rather have shonda take out addison than Shonda not being able to fit all the cast into her script, cuz that would break up Grey's Anatomy ensemble.

I absolutely love Kate Walsh, and I love her character on Greys' so I will definitely tune in. And if it sucks and the spinoff flops, they can always just write her back onto the Greys. I think they are messing with a good thing, but I will try to remain positive about Shonda Rhimes judgement. She hasn't let us down yet.

I just hope that if it doesn't work out, they will absolutely put Kate Walsh back on Grey's. It would be tragic to lose her character. I think I could get on board with the spin-off if we were guaranteed to have Addison Montogmery in our lives, in one form or another.

I love her she is the most beautiful woman on the show she's great. Hate to see her go I hope the spinoff is worth losing her on GA.

Take it as you wish, thats my thoughts on this particular subject.
it would be hard to create a spinoff on greys because greys is sooooooo unique. they would be too close in plot it just wouldn't work. There is an upside to this however- Greys fans would be able to basically watch *two* new episodes a week!!! that would be amazing!!! Maybe they could call it "Addisons Anatomy" or "Sorting Out All the Mc's In Your McLife".

this is a total fuck up if you ask me..looks like shonda is getting the big head. this will fail and we will lose addie for no reason. Why replace addie for this new woman...she is not near as gorgeous as Addison btw...im totally pissed...

i really hope this isnt true. i love addison and what she contributes to the greys cast. without her..i dont know. im obviously still going to watch greys, and i might even watch the spinoff because i love addison, but still. i agree with a lot of people here: if it aint broke, dont fix it.

the more i think about it i don't think it's a half bad idea. honestly grey's first season was without addison and they did just fine. and if any one of the doctors can pull this off i think it would be addison. i really like her as a character and kate walsh is a great actress with a lot of comedic talent. if they put a few interesting ppl with her it really might be okay.

Jay-Jay - a 'spinoff' is a tv show based on character(s) and/or a plot line from another (usually VERY successful) show. So, in this case, Kate Walsh would continue to play Addison, but she would probably be in another hospital with a totally new cast of characters.
This has been done in the past, but the chances of success aren't guaranteed. Sometimes it works ("Frasier" as a spinoff from "Cheers") and sometimes it's a terrible flop ("Joey" from "Friends" - how many shows did THAT last...).

I think this is a great idea!! And I am excited that we could get an additional hour a week of Shondra's brilliance. When they brought Kate Walsh on to the show she was only supposed to be around for a few episode, but we all loved her so they kept her around. The cast is getting too crowded, so if we have to lose a character at least we still get to follow them on another show. I can't handle any more characters dying!
P.S. This narrows teh race for Chief!

i love Addison..she is my favorite..Kate Walsh plays her perfectly....i love this show and i am probably the only one who HATES meredith...I hoe they do kill her off but we all know that is not happening.....This is all becoming bizarre...why is it when a show becomes really good someone has to do something stupid to ruin it...really how many spinoffs have really worked recently?

This really sucks!! I just recently got my sister hooked and have her now in the middle of season 2 and she hates Addison. After ever show I keep asking her if she still hates her and she replies, "yes because she is in the way of Derek and Meredith." I keep telling her to, "just wait, you will love her." Right now Addison and Alex are my favorite characters and I will be very sad to see her go. I have 2 small children and struggle to find time to watch my current shows, much less add a new one. I will definitely need to try though because she is an amazing woman and I don't believe she has fewer ways to keep busy...why not sneak into the closet with Alex...I know that could be entertaining!! Although I like Meredith and her little quirks she is not one of my favorites. Her scene with Derek at the end of season 2 was great but now that they are together they are somewhat boring. They are best with conflict but Addison is just great all around and Kate Walsh definitely earns credit for that!!

This is really lame. The series hasn't ended yet so why take her out before she's even had a chance that she can prove herself a powerful character without the men in her life. But, at least this is just a test. If people don't like it, then it wont air.
And no, this is not the same show as Jeffrey dean Morgan's.
