New Grey's Guest Star Lined Up

Just when you thought the Grey's Anatomy cast had gotten as big as it could - it started with nine, then grew to include Kate Walsh, Sara Ramirez and Eric Dane - TV Guide is reporting it could be adding a new member.

Elizabeth ReaserElizabeth Reaser, 31, is slated to guest star on the show this season, with the door left open for her joining the cast full-time.

She has a long list of TV and film credits (which you can view here), which include a starring role on the TNT medical drama Saved.

After graduating from Juilliard School of Drama, she struggled to find work at first, but landed a part on the daytime drama Guiding Light, and since has become an accomplished film, television, and stage actress, landing numerous supporting and leading roles.

What will bring this actress to Seattle Grace, and how long will she stick around? As usual, we'll have to wait and see.

Somebody's going to fall in love with her, or she's going to come in and it's going to be another: "I freaking hate her so much" kind of person. One or the other. (By the way, link doesn't seem to work of where you can view her doings)

Seriously enough is enough. The people that we love that are already on the show get minimal screen time because the cast is so huge already. I am not interested in any new full time cast members. It is nice to have reoccurring people who are seldom on. Hahn and Adele come to mind and even Ellis and Thatcher to an extent. But i want to see Burke and Cristina. I want to see Alex and Izzie and George and Meredith and Bailey and Derek. I want to see the Chief. These are the people I am invested in. I don't care about Callie, not really even about Addison or Sloan. The cast is too big to do justice to the actors and actresses that are already a part of the cast. It is only an hour show once a week. That means after commercials there are about 45 minutes of show divided by 9 original cast members plus three added. That's 12 cast members not counting the guest stars and patient stories. That is less than 4 minutes a person. I realize there are more than one person in most scenes, but still you get what I mean. This show does not need more full time, permanent cast members. They need more story lines for the amazing cast they already have. Just my honest opinion.

I agree 100% with you Burke Backer. We have a great original cast and I for one don't really feel that Addison, Sloan or Callie add anything to the show. They have played the part they were slated and to have them continue to hang around only means less air time for the originals and the members we have come to love. It's fine to have someone guest star but, everyone doesn't need to be made a permanent cast member. None of the originals get enough air time as it is now - we only have 43 minutes each week!

Seriously? The show would stale out if we didn't have other characters to introduce into storylines that are being sustained by our favorites. I would be disappointed in the writers if they didn't explore additional characters.

i agree with Burke Backer. I love the guest stars, but there are enough full time cast members already!
Grey's is a great show and doesnt need a new cast to keep it from going stale. An Excellent cast and guest stars are fantastic!

A lot of people have been saying that Olivia is the pregnant woman on the episode "walking on water" but i think this is her. How do you think she will tie into the show? will she be an old girlfriend, or even wife of Alex, or sister? She has to know Alex some how because the way she kept holding his hand.

  7. Amanda Says:

all i have to say is that meredeth better not die! i will be majorly upset if she is killed off and this new person replaces her. i love what addison added to the show and sloan and callie have their places. but honestly, who would narrate if meredeth goes? the only other narrators i remember are christina and george and that wasnt very often. 'devastating conclusion' does not make me happy. at all.

  8. Susan Says:

Meredith CAN NOT die!!! "Devastating" conclusion?! I think Alex & this mysterious pregnant lady will become romantically involved or she will die but he "adopts" the baby.

  9. Maxine Says:

This was a very dramatic ending - I can't believe Meredith is at death's door!! I think it is great that she met up with Izzy's love and can bring that news to Izzy, but to think that Meredith may die is unthinkable.
Fantastic show - but Meredith has to stay!!!!!

  10. Allie Says:

You really think they'd kill off Meredith? Think for a minute-why would she leave the show-it is #1, everyone loves her, I'm sure she is making a killing on it. Why would the producers want to get rid of her? She's the main character of the #1 show, everyone loves her, and she brings in big advertising bucks. Although it would be more juicy if something actually happened, we all know she's not going anywhere and will probably die and then "miraculously" come back to life. We've all seen enough shows to know that.
