Congratulations to the entire cast of Grey's Anatomy for winning the Screen Actors Guild award for best performance by an ensemble in a drama series last night.
A testament to chemistry and talent, this honor was earned by every member of the cast and should be savored.
Special congratulations go out to Chandra Wilson, who won the SAG award for best female actor in a drama series.
The actress who we've come to know and love as Dr. Miranda Bailey is a dynamic presence on the show and deserves every ounce of credit she gets.
While accepting her award, a teary-eyed Wilson credited her castmates and light-heartedly acknowledged the elephant (not) in the room.
"It's about those 10 cast members sitting over there," Wilson said. "... and the other one in rehab. Y'all just hold me together."
Wilson was referring, of course, to embattled star Isaiah Washington, who was not in attendance. Later, Ellen Pompeo, while accepting the award on behalf of the entire ensemble, also thanked Washington, as well as several of the many talented Grey's Anatomy guest stars who weren't there.
Refreshingly, the dark cloud hanging over Grey's Anatomy appears to have lifted, with the focus of the night remaining where it should be - on TV's best drama. Prior to the event, Katherine Heigl took the high road when asked about Isaiah.
"As far as we know, he's seeking treatment right now to help with some of his issues," Heigl told E! anchor Ryan Seacrest, repeatedly refusing to speculate on Washington's absence or return.
Below are some pictures from the SAG awards. Congratulations once again to the Grey's Anatomy cast, and especially Chandra on a job well done!

:) couldn't be happier for all of them and extra kudos to Chandra for getting the recognition she so deserves!
as i look at the nice pictures, i can't help thinking that the cast picture just looks wrong -- i know he's missing for a good reason, but IW earned that win as much as any other actor in the show. i hope he's doing well.

I agree luvthisshow - IW earned this as much as anyone else - however, apparently for a person to go into rehab for uttering a slur? All the best to him with his treatment. He is the only one who could be "Burke". I'm really happy that Chandra recognized him......

How far along is Ellen Pompeo in her pregnancy? (look at last photo). Her pregnancy was reported, very briefly, last month around the same time her engagement to Chris Ivery was announced. Nothing else has been said about her pregnancy since, though. In the photo she definitely looks pregnant, though she's standing in a way that makes it a little difficult to see completely.

I was just reading an article on ew.com:
"Heigl, who has been the most critical of Washington, told E!'s Ryan Seacrest she was "very hopeful that things will work out and be okay, and that Isaiah is taking the necessary steps to redeem himself."
When asked if the cast knew when Washington would return to the set, she told Seacrest, "There's a lot of confusion," adding that "we don't know when he'll be back or for how long."
I like Heigl but, she needs to take her own advice and "not speak in public". The comment that "we don't know when he'll be back or for how long" was highly inappropriate. Shame on you Katie.

Whoa! Ellen Pompeo pregnant? Are you sure? Where did you hear/read this?

i agree w/you Texas....KH should remain quiet in this situation, she's said more than enough already and a heck of a lot more than even the people directly involved!
and i haven't heard anything about a pregnancy either! although her dress does look maternity-ish.

Yeah, I was really surprised that KH made the comments she did.....especially if the cast is trying to heal and it appears they are.
I think (hope) it's just the way Ellen is standing.....I think we would have heard way more about this by now if it were true - they would need to move MerDer along a lot quicker than they are!

First of all, congratulations to the cast and show- I'm a big fan.
Second, whether or not Ellen is pregnant, the dress was very unflattering- black is not her color.
I don't think KH's comments were inappropriate- as it's stated above, she repeatedly refused to speculate about Isaiah. Too bad she didn't say
he's a pompous, homophobic jerk, who has some real issues.
I wouldn't miss him one bit, if he didn't return.

It was reported on Celebrity Baby Blog around Christmas that Ellen is rumored to be pregnant. The posting on Celebrity Baby Blog said that a reporter on a tv station in Seattle (that had some kind of a local talk show) said "Ellen will be needing a real-life doctor soon." 'Supposedly' Ellen said on a Seattle radio show that she was expecting. But later, the story could not be verified. This Seattle reporter was apparently 'swamped' with emails and calls asking about Ellen. The reporter later issued a statement denying that she said anything about Ellen 'needing a real-life doctor soon.' That's all I know. It seems like everything is deny, deny, deny. It's a pregnancy for God's sake, not some highly classified state secret.
But, I think Ellen looks 'larger' when she stands to the side and she looks like she's gained a little weight in her face. We'll know in a couple of months!
As for KH and her comment about IW. I think the very first comment she made at the GG--part of it was right--'Isiah should not speak in public.' The rest of her comment, about 'throwing down' for TR Knight, I think was stupid and immature. It's fine to have loyalty for your friends, but to say you'll 'throw down' ? And to say so in public? Why not say that in private, at work? KH reminded me of a high school bully when she said that, not a mature woman.
At least the rest of the cast has enough presence of mind to not say much--just smile and move on past the reporters.
