Conjoined twins. Adult twins. It sounds a bit ER-like, but we have no doubt that the Grey's Anatomy writers and producers will turn this scenario into some compelling drama tonight.
Presumably, the close-knit brothers must be separated, and Derek and Mark - once close-knit (and practically brothers, in Derek's words) themselves - will be forced to work together and perform a nearly-impossible operation.
It will be interesting to watch the parallels between the patients and these two surgeons, as well as how the relationships withstand such incredible stress.
It will also be interesting to monitor Derek's relationship with Meredith - but that goes without saying at this point.
We know that Dr. Hahn (Brooke Smith) will be back, and sooner or later, Mr. O'Malley has to have his surgery. When he does, odds are that she'll be performing it. As for Dr. Burke, he must deal with the fallout from his blow-up with Cristina and being outed in front of the Chief. How Miranda treats Dr. Yang after these developments reamins to be seen as well.
We'll have our episode guide, quotes, pictures and music list from the episode up as soon as we can. If this is half as good as "From a Whisper to a Scream," we're in for a treat this evening.

Here is a thought on a plot twist. What if Dr. Hahn is performing surgery on George's dad and she runs into a problem. She calls for Burke to help. He is after all still even with a possible hand tremor the most knowledgable, skilled cardiothoracic surgeon in the area. Wouldn't it be a cool plot twist if he comes to the rescue and rather than killing George's dad as everyone feared, actually saves his life? I know, I am just wishful thinking, but they have to fiind a way to restore his honor and respect.

I would like to see that twist, Burke Backer. I am so excited for tonight!!!

I hope that happens. I would hope that the writers value what this character brings to the show. This character although a brilliant surgeon, has a lot of emotional baggage to work through. It would be nice if the writers allowed his character to work through those issues on the show in some context.
Preston Burke seems to have spent a lifetime defining himself through his intelligence and brilliance as a surgeon. It would be nice if the writers allowed the viewer to take this journey with Dr. Burke really dealing with defining himself separate and apart from who he is as a surgeon.
If he comes back, it will be interesting to see how this shapes future of his medical career.

Love it Burke Backer, yet here is another twist, what if he scrubs in with Hahn per her request and Burke has lost his confidence and exits the suite..With Christina assisting and Christina does a fabulous job, leaving Burke to question his altered identity and self-image. It is true he is defined by his profession and stature, leaving you wonder which trait he will develop next..

I am hoping for some things to happen tonight;
1)Callie and George finally become a 'couple'
2)Preston LEAVES Grey's Anatomy
3)Alex NOT won't 'get along' with Addison
I hope George's dad is okay and everything goes smoothly for a while. I LOVE GEORGE!!!! Poor George is going such emotional pain, I hope it is better for him tonight!!!

You guys are really harsh. Burke is as important to this show as any other character, the most important to many of us. I can't believe anyone would want him to leave the show. It would leave a huge hole in the cast. I guess everytime someone does something we don't like we just boot them from the show. Let's see, I didn't like that Izzie cut the LVAD wire. Should she be gone? I didn't like that Derek slept with Addison when he was in love with Meredith. Should he be gone? I didn't like that Meredith slept with, oh how many guys was it? Should she be gone. I didn't like that George was a sniffling whiner after it didn't work out the night he slept with Meredith. Should he be gone? Addison cheated on Derek. Should she be gone? Alex slept with Olivia when he couldn't perform sexually with Izzie. He also killed a patient from a math error. Should he be gone? None of these characters are perfect. That's what makes the show relatable and enjoyable. I would never wish to have any of them removed because someone out there relates to and cares about each one. To wish him gone when you know others very much appreciate this character is just plain mean spirited. Hopefully Shonda has a bigger heart.
Plus, I sure don't know that George's dad is going to die. I am hoping he will live through this surgery. His cancer doesn't look good, but there is no reason he should die from the heart surgery.

It's great to see Burke and Cristina evolve, I don't want to see anyone leave the show, just grow and blossom as characters..Burke isn't going anywhere, just interesting to find how the plot turns and twists..
George's dad can survive surgery and may even go into remission or survive a while with treatment.
Enjoy the show !!!
