Dempsey: (Almost) The Sexiest Man Alive
We all know Patrick Dempsey is the sexiest man alive. In the eyes of millions of Grey's Anatomy fans, it's no contest.
But apparently another handsome gentleman - one who used to play a hot doctor on TV - has edged Patrick out for People Magazine's annual honor.
Yes, former ER star George Clooney was named Sexiest Man Alive by People for the second time. But Patrick still made the magazine's cover (right), and is featured inside along with various other hunks. We'll take it. Being an also-ran isn't shabby when you're going up against the likes of Clooney and Brad Pitt.
Patrick, 40, is married to stylist and cosmetics executive Jillian Fink Dempsey. They have a (very cute) 4-year-old daughter, Tallulah, and Jillian is currently pregnant again -- with twins!
The former teen heart throb is enjoying his second go-around with fame and has a sense of humor about his sudden burst of sexiness.
"This is so funny. I'm a hunky guy now," he says. "How did that happen?"

Considering this is probably Patrick's first time on the list, he did REALLY well but come one... it's George Clooney. SERIOUSLY!!! George was like the Mcdreamy of his days when he did ER. On the plus side, Patrick did place second over Brad(who's like #15 on the list) so that really is great for him.
You just wait and see next year it'll be Patrick.(Great picture of Patrick btw).

I honestly wasnt surprised that he was chosen to be a part of People's list. I mean, he is one of THE sexiest men out there and then he's not on the list? thats crazy. But anyway, even if he didnt make it as number one, he's gonna get there soon..no rushing right? As long as he remains McDreamy, he's still number one for me. *SiGh* But i do wish he does make it to the top someday. What do you think?

Okay I just found out that it was reallyclose between Patrick and George but in the end George just had what People magazine was looking for(that's what the editor of People magazine said on Extra).
So I am guessing next year that Patrick will most likely get the cover.

Congrats to the Patrick Dempsey fans. You have just had your taste in men validated! I love this dreamy picture of McDreamy. On the show, I love the way his eyes smile when he smiles, in fact almost before his mouth smiles. Omar Epps was the 13th man mentioned by People this year. He is such a good actor. I loved him in Love and Basketball and that boxing movie with Meg Ryan, and continue to love him as Foreman on House. I think it is great that People includes on their list men of Asian, Hispanic, and African American background as well as the perennial hotties Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Johnny Depp, etc. This year both Taye Diggs and Omar Epps are on the list and both are very hot, however, without a doubt my vote for sexiest African American man alive is Isaiah Washington. I guess having two actors from Grey's on the same list was too much to ask. Maybe next year.

I havn't watched enough George Clooney to know if he deserves the honor. But I love to watch Patrick and know he deserves it. That's why he's our McDreamy.

Met George, talked to George, love George! He is not only gorgous but he is down to earth, a nice man and very very funny!! George won the Modern Master Award last year, was nominated for a couple of Academy Awards last year and won an Academy Award last year. He was also named and on the cover for People Magazine, as "The Sexiest Man Alive." This year Will Smith will get the Modern Master Award and he will most likely be up for an Academy Award and may even win an Academy Award for "Pursuit of Happyness". So what's next for Will?? I say he should follow in Georges footsteps and be on the cover of People Magazine for 2007's "Sexiest Man Alive". I will put money on it that Jada will vote for that one also!!
