I have to say that I am utterly disgusted by some of the racist remarks of the people on this page! No one should dare judge Ellen and Chris for being in love. I do believe that no matter age and race Ellen and Chris should have a happy life together. Congratulations to the both of you and I hope that you have a long and happy life together! Shame on all of you who are so ignorant and pathetic enough to say the things that you do!
Congratulations again and don't listen to all of the negative aspects in this case.

Since when did we have to be so critical of everyone? Just let the happy couple remain happy! This is not the main point here, the main point of this website is to discuss Grey's Anatomy. I love the show and watch it every week, and will continue watching it (even if the star of the show is in an interacial relationship or not). Anyways keep up the great work with the show, and everyone needs to just back off of them. Congrats Ellen and Chris!

Thank you for your refreshing outlook on the subject. The point of the website is not to condemn Ellen and Chris for being in love, but to congratulate them. I wonder why Lucy Walters, who is so bent on her arguement that she needs to cite the BIBLE, is failing to understand that as Gods creations we should respect and not demean one other based on our race. I have no problem with him being black, who cares. He's not cute though, and he has a case of the gay face, totally. Her on the other hand, is the problem. I can't imagine any man wanting her after seeing her an episode of Punk'd where they had a pretty waitress look like she was flirting with him. If anyone would have heard the sick things she said, they would wonder what is wrong with her. She was beyond evil. Crazy as hell. I lost all respect for her after that. She's a horrible woman.

I watch Grey's Anatomy and Ellen an Patrick have a natural chemistry. Chris looks older than his age, but so be it. Actually, most white people either don't take baths or don't scrub their skin. They often smell, and their general hygiene is deplorable. A lot of them don't wash their hands after they use the toilet. They get their hair done every week just like black women do, but they act like getting hair straightened is just something black women do to look white. Most white women feel insecure if their hair isn't straight.
White people are intrinsically evil. The history of their race shows that most of Europe has occupied themselves with nought but killing and plundering since they managed to crawl out of the huts they lived in.
They are an evil, recessive race which needs desperately to be subdued. They have done nothing but spread evil, violence and hate throughout the world. A great example of this is the gaggle of lies they sell through their nonsensical catholic church. They'll lie, cheat, steal and kill to get what they want. They are profoundly untrustworthy and crafty.
They use God to cloak their depravity.
Look at your society. Are you truly happy? Are you truly perfect? Why do you claim to be superior? Because you have no limits? No morals? No scruples? You are not superior. You are inferior. Your race evolved from the stronger, superior, darker races. Give respect to your betters.

Wow, this is SOOOO crazy and needless to say disappointing for people to use God/Jesus/Religion to back up this craziness! Racism is basically derived from FEAR. Fear of something different, of the unknown, your own insecurities.
If we, blacks are so disgusting to some of you then why do you even bother to waste your energy spewing such hatred. What are all of you so afraid of? Maybe you have only been exposed to negative blacks.
Color doesn't make you superior or inferior, it is how you behave as an individual....and ignorance comes in all shades.
Life is difficult enough, we don't need to bash each other, that's definitely not what the God I know would want.
And for my fellow brothers and sisters please don't keep entertaining such foolishness because while your intention is to strike back at the racist attitudes so sadly displayed here, you are in danger of hurting those who are united. (i.e. don't forget the abolitionists)
There are so many successful 'mixed' marriages, its sad you only hear about the Oj's/Nicoles...
Love is hard to find and if Ellen and Chris only have each other for a moment of time they are blessed.

I still can't see why, in 2007, anyone actually (a) cares about what another person does, (b) feels the need to espouse racial generalities that should have died over 100 years ago, (c) even wastes time in thought over such trivialities. I have read the disturbing racial diatribes from several folks on this board and, in response, I will ask this: regardless of what you say, think, or do, how will it change anyone's viewpoint? Do you think you can change the world? Do you really think you are going to change Ellen Pompeo's viewpoint? Do you actually think Chris Ivery cares about what you think of him? He has millions now at his disposal and the chance to do something great with them, so I guess you who bag on them are jealous about their financial situation. Do you think you're going to persuade them to split up? If so, you're wasting your time. If you don't like it, don't watch the show. It's as simple as that. Really, do you think they are seeking your approval? Certainly, I can tell you that racist epithets have no real meaning to me, from a personal standpoint, because they are so common in today's world and I do not classify others by race when I deal with them at all.Final thoughts: to the hispanic poster who is typing in vile words of hatred, saying that non-whites "smell" and all of that. Isn't there something better that he could be doing with his life instead of worrying about blacks, like going to work? Like becoming an American citizen? Like making money? Like going to college and actually finishing? Like starting a business? Like helping out others in need, regardless of race? He passes on the racism to his daughters, which he referenced in the post, but he doesn't do one thing to become a legal citizen of the country he is trying to "save"-nor does he try to persuade and/or sign up others of his cultural background to become legal inhabitants (to most of these folks, emigration to the USA in any way, shape, or form, regardless of the law, is acceptable). Instead, he ruminates on and on about the perceived weaknesses in blacks, never caring about the plight of his own-most of whom are in jails on immigration, drug, or violence charges, or are digging ditches and filling holes in the streets of Los Angeles. When do you think that is going to change, tomorrow? 2008? 2020? Don't hold your breath.One thing I definitely do not understand is the reason the hispanic poster would care about exerting "power," "will," and "superiority" over blacks and others when the mostly Eurocentric American government is building fences around Mexico as I type. "Blacks" are the issue? The problem? How about all of the conservative white Republicans in power today who are jailing hispanics and deporting them back to their native lands? Doesn't it sound somewhat like what you hear when white racists say the blacks should "go back to Africa?" Also, there are many hispanics/mexicans protesting, in droves, a concept (that of "legality" for those already in the USA, even though they may have come here illegally) that doesn't even extend itself to Americans when Americans visit foreign soil? If you do not understand what I mean, I am talking about when a person from the USA visits another country and is considered "illegal" after 2 years.You should now be able to easily witness how the racist American establishment has influenced the widespread scenario of "hate the blacks- they are the reason the South fell way back in a time that four generations of Americans cannot remember-but love your oppressors." You know, the oppressors who enslave people in 2007 by putting them on the hot seat (ever watch FOX News?) and telling them their "cause" is worthless? You know, the ones who say that cancer/AIDS/stem cell research and civil unions/gay marriage are against Biblical intention? You know, the ones who tell women that they should not run for office, that they should not be allowed to make their own choices regarding their health (which really should be a private matter), and that they, by paying them less and working them harder (like blacks), are second class citizens? You know, the ones who make you pay taxes, take all of your money after you work 9-5 or longer, and then tell you that they'll give you more money if you have more babies, not explaining that more babies equals more money that needs to be both spent and made (in that order).Because of what is going on, in 10 years, the American "underclass" will consist of nothing but hispanics from mexico who, in a decade, cannot rise any further than the slaves did between 1865-1875. No, disenfranchised "African-Americans" in 2007 are *certainly* not the "problem"; in 10 years, blacks' numbers will decrease even further, yet they probably will still be allowed by the establishment to inhabit the same types of jobs they are permitted to work today. All of this means no progress, all around, for anyone except those who were able to build strong financial foundations under Bush, which every single person in the world knows is a demographic that does not consist of many minorities of any type.How could you say that blacks are the "problem" when they seem to have even less influence and power in society than they did 30 years ago? Do you really think Barack Obama has a chance? Get real; he does, though, have the largest secret service detail of any candidate, ever, so I'd say that he does have the odds for something-although I wouldn't recommend taking them out of humanitarian's sake.Have you realized that the numbers of African-Americans have decreased, nationwide? Are you aware that, because of the sheer truth in the numbers, blacks cannot rise much further unless they begin birthing offspring at the same rate as hispanics in America? Have you understood that the numbers of hispanics from mexico in America have more than quadrupled? Did you know that hispanics, who make up a larger percentage of the population than blacks, as a group have fewer numbers in the educational, legal, political, and social systems? Now, given these facts, can you please tell me who the real underclass is? Let me give you a hint: demographically, they are the largest minority group in the USA. Make sense yet? If not, take a walk out in the world and look around.Unfortunately, they're the same people that seem to be, like the Florencia 13 and people like Vicente Fox, attempting to keep other minorities down with any chance they get-specifically blacks. What a shame. Perhaps we could get rid of the WAR IN IRAQ first, then homelessness, poverty, corrupt governments and politicians, and unemployment. Oh yeah-then maybe, after that, we could persuade the people to support a path towards legal immigration that does allow everyone (not just hispanics or people from mexico) equal access and equal opportunities. Yes, that includes those "smelly blacks" from Africa that a great deal of you so want eradicated from the world because they're so "evil," "decadent," and loads of other incomprehensible adjectives. Let's all start using our brains for once and stop letting our emotions guide us. I know it's tough, but it can be done.

Ok so I thought that Abraham Lincolon wrote the Emancipation Proclamation in order to free all people of discrimination and slavery. Everyone who has a racist comment, whether it be about blacks or whites, they should step back and see how it sounds. To me it sounds like they are the ones who are insecure about themselves and need to put other people down in order to make themselves feel good. I reads some up on this post and it make me feels sad for many of these peoples on here. We alls be childrens of the Lord soi why does we gots to be acting likes we nots childrends of god?
