T.R. Knight Confirms He is Gay
Actor T.R. Knight, the terrific Grey's Anatomy star who has become a fan favorite as everyman George O'Malley, has announced he is gay.
The 33-year-old addressed rumors of his sexuality in a statement to People magazine Thursday, and while it's part of who he is, he hopes that isn't how people view him.
"I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there," Knight said in his statement.
"While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me."
Before taking on the role of the bumbling, puppy-eyed surgical intern George on the ABC drama, T.R. (which stands for Theodore Raymond) made a name for himself as a stage actor. His TV credits include CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
We're happy for T.R. in that the decision to come out is often a difficult one, and he clearly felt it was time. If we see or hear anything more, we will have it for you as soon as possible.

Not that it really is anybody's bussiness but I think he handled it very well. No matter weather you agree or not with what a person chooses to do or be. If you know them or not they all deserve respect.

OMG! WAY TO GO! I'M REALLY GLAD THAT HE IS COMFORTABLE ENOUGH WITH HIMSELF TO LET THAT BE OUT IN THE OPEN! HE'S A GREAT ACTOR AND I DON'T SEE WHY ANYONE SHOULD LOOK AT HIM ANY DIFFERENTLY.

It's so nice that so far everything I've heard has been oh, good for him for coming out! And that there haven't been any huge discussions about it, because he's still the exact same person.
As a side-note, if you have the season two dvd & haven't watched the bonus features yet -- GO! TR is one of the actors interviewed for the Q&A & he has some adorable answers, no surprise there.
:)

Good on him. It makes me happy when people can be exactly who they are inside without having to hide it for their career.
Its just sad that he had to come out because of someone making a really rude comment about him. DARN YOU ISAIAH!!!!!!!!

Wow, I'm really really proud of him. For him to come out and admit that infront of the public makes me respect him so much more. It bothers me that he had to confirm that he's gay, just because someone couldnt stay out of his business. I'm also happy that no one so far has made a discussion out of this, that would make me really upset because there's no reason why this should change anything. He definitely handle it well. Go T.R!

Why is it that when he comes out, it makes him even hotter?!-chloe

Aww man. He is so adorable.
Anyway.
He's gay. Who cares? I support him no matter what, and I think he is an amazing actor. Like he said, fact that he's gay isn't the most interesting part of him. If that is what makes him happy then that is fine with me. I will remain a fan of him no matter what, and I don't see why people care so much about other people's decisions as to their sexuality so much. He is an actor, and a darn good one at that, so people shouldn't being critical or change their view of him... they should just let him act.
So.
I think T.R. is absolutely amazing and nothing will change my mind about it!
