Tonight's Episode Preview: I Am a Tree
Tonight's episode, "I Am a Tree," (9 p.m. EST) takes its name from a song written by Doug Gillard, and performed by Guided by Voices. We'll see if the voices of the interns can successfully guide Izzie back into the internship program, which they will attempt to do.
Cristina, meanwhile, has the honor of meeting Dr. Burke's parents, Jane and Donald (played by Diahann Carroll and Richard Roundtree) under rather awkward circumstances. To say the least. You've seen the previews.
Also, a distraught Addison takes a break from her hospital duties, a surgical patient lives what may be her last day to the fullest, and somebody's panties are tacked up on the bulletin board, which can only lead to good things.
Some of you in Canada, of course, have already seen this. But the rest of us are looking forward to it. We'll have our exclusive Episode Guide, pics and quotes up after the show, so check back!
Catch up on last week's season premiere, "Time Has Come Today," by reading our comprehensive guide as well as our staff's Round Table discussion. Check out our list of memorable quotes and our image gallery from the episode, too.

Okay, here are my thoughts on tonight's episode. First, is Meredith completely spineless?? I can't believe she is hesitating a moment over her decision over Derek and Finn. Isn't she deeply, morosely in love with McDreamy? Come on! Finn is sweet in a brotherly way. Derek is the love she has been pining for for two seasons.
Second, Mrs. Burke has to go. Give our girl Cristina a break. She didn't have a minute alone with Preston and those are my favorite moments. His Dad is kind of cute though. I hope that Mama won't turn Dr. Burke against Cristina at the same time that Cristina is realizing how much she loves the good doctor. Third, I am definitely becoming a Calli fan and George is, too. Fourth, Izzie is so lost and sad. I was very happy to see Bailey come and talk to her and hope that she is reinstated even though I don't think there is a chance in the world that that would happen in real life. Finally, it would be great to add a plastic surgeon to the cast on a permanent basis, and one who looks so good almost wearing a towel most certainly would be a very steamy addition.
