ABC, Shonda Bringing Denny Back to Life?

We're not sure whether this is good or bad news for Grey's Anatomy fans, but regardless, you'll be able to see more Jeffrey Dean Morgan on ABC.

Coming Soon: More MorganMorgan, who was lauded by critics and fans for his portrayal of charismatic and ill-fated heart patient Denny Duquette, has signed on as a regular cast member on new ABC series from Shonda Rhimes, the creator and executive producer of Grey's Anatomy.

The Untitled Shonda Rhimes Project, as it is now known, revolves around a group of female journalists. According to Reuters, ABC has ordered a pilot episode.

While it comes as little surprise that Morgan's newfound fame landed him another ABC role, this news officially extinguishes flickering hopes of Grey's fans that Denny might return to Seattle Grace in some capacity. The handsome actor endeared himself to Dr. Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) for much of the series' second season.

In addition to his guest role on Grey's Anatomy, Morgan appeared on the WB Network series Supernatural as the ghost-busting father of stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. He was also recurring character on Weeds, the Showtime comedy starring Mary Louise Parker. Morgan played Parker's dead husband, who often appears in flashbacks and fantasy sequences.

Sandra Oh to Star in New Broadway Play

In addition to delighting millions of fans as the sarcastic, yet endearing Dr. Cristina Yang on Grey's Anatomy, Sandra Oh continues to build her acting resume on the big screen and on stage. Starting next month, the Canadian actress will be starring in the Broadway play Satellites at the Public Martinson’s Theater, according to Broadway.com.

The Talented Sandra Oh

The play, written by Diana Son and debuting June 18, centers around an interracial couple, Nina (Oh) and Miles, who are new parents moving into a transforming neighborhood in Brooklyn. With a new house, a new baby, and a constant struggle to make ends meet, they're tested by old friends, strangers and difficult life decisions.

Stage veterans Kevin Carroll (who plays Miles), Johanna Day, Ron Cephas Jones, Satya Lee, and Clarke Thorell have also been cast. Carroll has previously appeared in the plays Take Me Out and Stop Kiss alongside Oh — the latter was also written by Son. Satellites is directed by Michael Greif, and will begin previews May 30.

Cast Members Spreading Much Love

The Grey's Anatomy cast has donated autographed merchandise to benefit Much Love Animal Rescue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving animals from abuse and neglect. The Los Angeles-based animal shelter maintains a large network of celebrity supporters, and is constantly raising money on behalf of animals withA Loving Trio nowhere to go.

The cast has signed t-shirts that are up on eBay, with all proceeds going to the rehabilitation of stray animals. In addition to the signed shirts, the Grey's wardrobe stylist created a pair of custom shirts that were featured on Ellen when Ellen Pompeo visited earlier this month.

Check out the eBay auction here, or visit Much Love's site and make a donation today! It's a good cause. Sandra, Katherine and Ellen will be proud.

Grey’s Cast Visits Oprah Tomorrow

There are no more new episodes of Grey's Anatomy this season, but you can still get your fix here and there. On Friday, May 26, the cast will be appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show, according to the media mogul's website. Oprah's site promises an interview Ellen, Isaiah & Oprahwith Ellen Pompeo, who plays Dr. Meredith Grey, as well as a surprise moment with the incomparable Isaiah Washington (also known as Dr. Burke).

Some sources report that the rest of the cast will also be appearing to discuss the evolution of the incredibly popular series, along with the recent season finale and hints at next year's developments. Don't miss it! If Grey's Anatomy isn't enough to entice you to watch some daytime TV (and we all know that it is), Oprah will also be interviewing Uma Thurman.

T.R. Knight to Appear on Sesame Street

With Grey's Anatomy on hiatus for the summer, its cast is taking on some interesting acting roles. Perhaps the most educational of these pursuits belongs to T.R. Knight, who will soon be appearing on an episode of the classic PBS chiOn the Caseldren's series Sesame Street.

The actor who plays George O'Malley won't be playing a surgical intern on Sesame Street, however. Instead, he'll portray a private detective — a private "I" (as in the letter "I"), to be more specific.

We haven't heard much more about his appearance, but from the looks of the pictures (which we have added to our gallery) he'll be showing off mad detective skills, and possibly being indecisive about his relationship with Callie. Just kidding.

Katherine Heigl: A Rising, Shining Star

Katherine Heigl, a beautiful and dynamic part of the Grey's Anatomy cast, is the subject of a recent Netscape Celebrity feature. The Lovely Katherine

She's not new to fame, having turned heads for several years on the sci-fi series Roswell, but Heigl's star has certainly risen since being cast as Isobel "Izzie" Stevens on Grey's Anatomy. The 27-year old greets her recent success with a sense of relief. Everyone in the Grey's cast, Heigl notes, has been around long enough to know what it's like to invest themselves in a TV show, film, or stage production that doesn't succeed.

"To work hard on something and be passionate about it and have an audience is such a wonderful feeling. It makes it so much easier to come to work everyday," said Heigl, who's apparently as consumed with Grey's Anatomy as we are.

"I'm obsessed with it myself, which is really weird because I'm on it. I never used to be into the stuff I did. It's hard to watch it objectively. This one I get really excited about because there are so many characters and there is so much going on. I'm not in everything, so I don't know exactly how everything is going to pan out. I get all like, 'Oh, my God! What's going to happen with George and Meredith?'"

This kind of reaction to the material has given the Connecticut native a new appreciation for the work that goes into creating each episode.

Patrick Dempsey Showers With Co-Stars

A Hot PropertyLadies, you may want to make sure you're sitting down for this one. Patrick Dempsey and other members of the Grey's Anatomy cast showered together as ABC introduced its upcoming fall lineup at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.

According to People Magazine, when the cast took the stage at the event, a video rolled of Dempsey, James Pickens Jr. (Dr. Webber) and Isaiah Washington (Dr. Burke) in the shower, soaping each other up and trading suggestive glances.

The video - a spoof on the opening scene of the post-Super Bowl episode - goes on to show Chandra Wilson (Dr. Bailey) in a towel as the shower door opens.

At the sight of Wilson, Dempsey proclaims, "I've always loved you." Wilson promptly tosses her towel and steps into the shower. In the next scene, she wakes up in bed, realizing it was all a dream. Her response (which many fans would undoubtedly share): "Oh, hell no!"

Classic. In other McDreamy news, Entertainment Tonight reports that Dempsey is using his time off from the show to appear in the Walt Disney Pictures film Enchanted. Dempsey, who was spoken frequently about his career slump before Grey's Anatomy became a hit, jumped at the movie role.

"I wanted something that was non-violent and fun and something that I can bring my daughter to. This is the perfect movie for that," he said.

The timing was perfect as the movie role began just as Dempsey finished filming the season finale. Enchanted is an animated fairytale — for which Disney is famous — and a modern romantic comedy melded together. It stars Amy Adams as a beautiful princess, banished from her magical kingdom to real-life Manhattan by an evil queen, played by Susan Sarandon.

Dempsey plays a divorce lawyer and single dad — or, as he puts it, "the normal guy trying to piece together what is really happening."
