Get to Know the Actor that Plays Denny
Alex may not wish to read a recent article in The Seattle Times. It profiles the actor behind Denny, a man waiting for a heart transplant that has captured the interest of Izzie.
Sandy Thomas, from Kirkland, has been a fan since the show hit the airways. She now has a very good reason to continue to turn in every night at 10 p.m.: her favorite actor, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, has a recurring role. Of course, Morgan also happens to be Thomas' son.
In addition to the Grey's Anatomy role, her son has a recurring part in another television show, Supernatural.
Morgan is a local. He went to Ben Franklin Elementary School, Rose Hill Junior High and was a 1984 graduate of Lake Washington High School.
"He didn't grow up wanting to be an actor," Thomas said. "He wanted to be a basketball star."
Instead, he went into acting and has a long list of television and movie credits. The surest sign of success in his chosen field?
"I haven't had to send him a check in years," Thomas said.

[...] Apparently, Dr. Bailey is concerned about being treated differently by co-workers now that she’s a mother. We aren’t sure why, but it appears the always entertaining Cristina takes up knitting on this episode, which should be a riot. It also looks like Alex’s brutal honestly with patients catches up to him, drawing harsh criticism from one of the older doctors (and perhaps foreshadowing his rumored departure). I couldn’t bear it if something bad happens to Denny — He needs to have a recurring role on Grey’s Anatomy forever!!! I can’t believe I haven’t seen him in anything before this — The man has it all!!!!!!!!!!
Denny has to live! He’s perfect and he adds so much to the show. I love him and Izzie together. I am more interested in them now than I am Meredith and Derek.
Now that Denny is gone…..couldn’t he come back as the twin brother that he never mentioned??? The show is great in itself, but Denny really added to it!!!!

WOW. I thought he was gonna live. I am VERY dissapointed myself! What a shame. Izzy and Denny were my favorite on the show. Write in a miracle or something and bring him back lol. He’s my McDreamy lol. Greys is still a wonderful show and I will still be a fan but it wont be the same without Denny!!!

Bring him and back and make it all a bad dream. Izzie and Denny were much more interesting a couple that Mer/Der. Season 3 needs to start with Izzie waking up from this nightmare.
I feel the same about Denny! I LOVED him and I thought he would have been a great addition to the show! I really hate that he died! I can’t believe it! I think he should have been in season three! Please bring Denny back!!!!
I was totally sobbing! I hope to God the writers are smart enough to realize how stupid it would be to have Denny dead. It should be Izzie thinking it over before cutting the cord. I could not even sleep last night. First they killed off Doc and now Denny! NOT DENNY! NOOOO!
I hope that they bring Denny back as well as the love between him and Izzie was (and hopefully ‘is’) very touching and more exhilirating than what Meredith and Derek have. Denny was a true romantic and needs to be brought back as this will keep fans watching the show (besides, he’s totally HOT!!!)

Such a soft death for Denny. The pleased and amazed smile ..’she’s gonna marry me’… then just a little pain and then .. when they showed Izzie in bed with Denny’s dead body I just LOST it. LOST IT! Now that was a three hanky scene. I don’t think MY heart could stand many more like that.
I want Denny back! The best character was killed off! I want to email the show and complain, but can’t find the address. If anyone knows it, post it, we must all complain. They need to get him back on. Maybe he can come to life or something! Anything!
This sucks! Denny was the best character, he was so HOT! I want him back! I agree with “Char”…I want to write in and DEMAND him to be back on the show…We should definitely all complain, because I know that I am not watching season three without him and Izzie back together.
I dont like the show for doing this. Denny and Izzie and their story was the only reason I watched the show, now I am just going to watch csi. Its not fair he died he and izzie were perfect for one another. the people behind greys anatomy have lost a great part of their audience killing off denny. i looked forward to seeing how their relationship evolved, now theres nothing to worth watching anymore. im so SADDDDDDD!!!

I hope the folks from Grey’s read this blog. We ALL want Denny back. I’m so bummed out and not really sure I want to watch Grey’s next season. However… according to TV Guide, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Denny) will be starring in a new series about reporters this fall… Yay! I think I will replace the Grey’s slot on my TV with this new show…

Is it just me or does the Denny character look a lot like Robert Downey Jr.? For the entire time he was on the show I thought it was Downey…but not quite. It was only recently that I read in a magazine who the real actor was. They look like brothers for sure…to me.

I can’t understand why Denny had to go. I only got into the show when Issy and Denny fell for eachother. Can’t believe the sexiest man was taken off the show.
